Evangelion Video Games
I play video games a lot. I love collecting them, as such, I find myself snatching up every Evangelion game I can get. So far my favorites are still the old Sega Saturn ones, probably for the incredibly good production and art in them, but more accurately, I'm sure, because I love Sega. Long story short, I love the Saturn ones and Eva64 especially. I tried the "Raising Ayanami" project or whatever for PS2 and... it did not go over well. I haven't played any of the PS2 games since then, though I've heard Evangelion 2 was pretty good. I need a modded PS2 or tool before I start on that though...
Anyway, I speak little/no Japanese at all. I can barely read Katakana, so for me, it's MULTIPLE playthroughs with a translation book handy to figure out what the hell is going on.
My posts are always so long-winded, sorry about that! The purpose of this post is that there are entries in the Evapaedia, Apple of Knowledge, Neon Gospel, or whatever the wiki will end up being named, that are devoted to the games so I thought we could pool some pretty good information here. I know the games are pretty trivial in the long run as most are not canon and, honestly, most aren't that great, but there are a rare few that are great and give some pretty interesting insight to the story.
So is this a topid worth exploring or should we not even worry about it? If it is, and if anyone has a pretty good grasp on the Japanese language and enough time to play some video games, I've got some that could potentially be borrowed for the greater good.

Dammit! I was just about to start this topic myself!
Anyway, from what i've heard, Evangelion 2 : Another cases is the best eva game, simply because it has virtually every NGE plot possible - as well as it was supposedly based on interviews with Anno, and therefore contains canon information (specifically, the FAR and the seeds of life etc.)
But, these games should also be considered:
The impressions games
GOS
(people are going to hate me for these last two)
Secret of Evangelion
Detective of Evangelion
This is simply because they are plot based.
I've also heard that a lot of material comes exclusively from the games. There's the afformentioned "classified info", but I think there's also two other Evas, or something like that?
I would think that these would be the best games up for translation.

Normality is overrated
Kaworu/Asuka - give it a chance!
(Clarification - I still like Asuka/Shinji)

The Impressions were pretty good, Girlfriend of Steel was great, and the Digital Card Library was amazing just for the sheer amount of information it had. I was really impressed with the Eva Mahjong game that came out for Game Boy Color, it's... really bizarre, but really fun. You pick a pilot and "fight" against the Angels via Mahjong. It's got the actual Eva storyline plus some weird side-story games where it's just stuff like Asuka trying to impress Kaji with how good she is, etc. Evangelion 64 is still probably my favorite though, hands down. Does anyone know what was up with the last level though? It doesn't make any sense at all to me... is it just a kind of "bonus" for the game? If it is... it's pretty weak as it just makes things WAY more confusing.

i would totally buy the one for n64 if it didn't cost like 80 dollars or more on ebay.
God, Apparently you all have been discussing Q since November. Catching up on the discussion is harrowing.

You know what MaggotMaster?
I'm getting really sick of you posting unnecessary threads on this site.
EXAMPLE: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA etc.
What in the name of Evangelion is that?!!??!!?!?!? I can't believe you haven't even been banned yet. Stupid comments, spelling and grammer extremely lacking. I'm surprised you've gone from crazy to serious now. And, I get the feeling you're Reichu. By the way, if you are Reichu, you're also extremely serious about grammar/spelling etc. Hmph!
BACK ON-TOPIC BITCHES!

No. MM lives in Chile and listens to GWAR. I live in New Jersey and listen to Capercaillie.
Yeah, the games pages are on the to-do list. We could use a "well-educated person" or two to help fill in the pages...

Like I said, my Japanese is beyond elementary. Anyone I can trust my Saturn games, Eva64, and Eva Mahjong to though, I'm willing to take the risk. Just as long as I get them back, I'll be happy. If I possibly could contribute anything though, I'd love to. I could take screen caps or something, if anyone has any idea how to screen cap, I would need to know though.Reichu wrote:We could use a "well-educated person" or two to help fill in the pages...

I think the signal to noise in this thread is too low to be worth salvaging.
