So, I have this wacky Sachiel banner browsing the forums. I like getting out of the stuffy old classroom from time to time. ^_^

I like it. I think it's an appropriate celebration, and it looks good, too. Any plans to update the news page as well?

Does this mean that in 2029, the banner will have the events of Q on it?
I’ll escape now from this world, from the world of Jean Valjean, Jean Valjean is nothing now! Another story must begin!

^ That’s going to be even a more fun timeline debate, since there’s no explicit “Year 2015” mention in 1.0 and 2.0. Some are even suggesting that it takes place in 2016 or 2017. So Q could actually take place in the year 2031.

Now that you mention it, while the Wiki lists 1.11 as taking place in 2015, it's not cited anywhere. Granted, the original page was made before Q and therefore similarities were likely taken for granted (or perhaps whoever made it didn't feel the need to cite a date?) but you're right-- I'd be hard-pressed to think of any time when the date was explicitly mentioned. I'll go back through the film in a few weeks when life gets calmer and see if I can find any calendars or something like that. (Feel free to do it before I do, anybody.)

It was written way before 3.0, so whoever last edited it just left the 2015 parts in there. Probably didn't help that one of the first Newtype (USA, 2006) interviews said: "The new story takes place in the same period as the 1995 TV series, but the plot is completely different," producer Toshimichi Otsuki elaborates. "This isn't a remake or a quick fix. It's a totally new production."

1.0 and 2.0 have quick/in the background shots of calenders, but no dates. Speculations here: http://forum.evageeks.org/thread/9213/Rebuild-of-Evangelion-timeline/ Gah, the pictures were 404'ed to oblivion!

Me writing back in 2010 that 2015 is "just around the corner"...*Head explodes* Life has been life!

I didn't change the banner for the ugly style.

Well, the style was made as a joke and I don't remember what the label for it was in the style chooser, but the css file is called "subsilver_ugly.css". It's probably not something we'll keep supporting moving forward.

That's funny, because i actually find this palette relaxing, while the grays of the regular one hurt my eyes.
