I could be wrong about this one but it seems Anno is still pessimistic about anime and *some* animation is coming in the next 5 years. Which, depending on when this interview was conducted, might be 3 years or less from now.

I'm excited for translations, even if they take a while!

When I put your quoted tweet into google translate, I get a result about advanced screenings of Shin. I don't get any results about animation coming in the next five years. Is the machine translation screwing up, or is that material in a different tweet?

It seems the book is a lot more broad than we thought. Hm. I'm still not sure if this is truly a Shin CRC (no idea about 3.0 either). Maybe they'll even make more books...

I handled most of the in-between for the Newtype edition on Shin and the booklet and most other interviews recently so I guess I can do it. I can't make any promises about the actual translation though, it seems it is indeed going to take a while as most of the people that were going to get it done for us either went AWOL or are otherwise unavailable.

He hasn't said anything really besides that Khara sent it to him. We know he likes Eva but he hasn't said much else recently. Although I have to wonder if it was at his request or on Khara's offer?

Pretty "low budget" compared to my probably overinflated expectations. Kaguya-hime no Monogatari had a 5 billion yen budget for comparison.

And absolutely minuscule compared to the bloated Hollywood budgets here in America. The recent TMNT animated movie cost 3x that.

Don't think it's been clarified here but while this book will have some interesting production tidbits, it's mainly about the business aspect and not aimed at fans who want to know more about the actual production and story. At least that's what I've seen from some reviews.
Two design books and an interview collection book for Q have been announced, though delayed silently, and Shin's CRCs are in production and were mentioned in this book.
Shin's storyboard book hasn't been announced yet.

This book does mention that as of 2023, Tsurumaki is currently working on directing something. Anno mentions in Shin Ultraman's Design Works (2022) that he'll repay Tsurumaki's help on Shin Kamen Rider and help him on his next work.

I assume that they're adding the content from -46h into the CRCs, and maybe doing something else that a Q CRC could spoil, but we'll see.
