it's clear that no matter how much evidence you present some people just aren't going to pay attention and keep believing that say, Naoko is in the Eva.

Either way, whoever is inside Unit 00, it is not Rei. It could not be in any tangible way Rei. Rei did not die (or any part of her) inside of an Eva. Her Lillith soul was not split. It is not Rei, and it cannot be Rei. I will not accept "Well it never explained it in the series but it's true anyway" as an excuse. She is not a mother, she has no maternal instincts. I've just debunked the Rei theory, right there. I agree with MaggotMaster on this matter. There is nothing in the series that could put a finger on directly who, and therefore no reason to discuss it, so lock plz. All the more reason to look forward to Rebuild, as it will probably clear up things like this.

Rei I did die, does a CE actually require a living body? If the rest of Kyoko's soul was put back into Eva-02, why not a corpse of a little Rei I?

Does that mean it's impossible for Toji's mom to be in EVA-03? She was long gone before it was completed. Ritsuko even says that the core has to be prepared.

It's all been covered before. If you are intimately familiar enough with the history of this long and sad debate to know that you have something new and beautiful on your hands, make a new thread. Until then, the old ones will more than suffice.
