Strange EoE info cards of some kind

Someone please help! I recieved a strange package of evangelion cards of somekind. They are in Japanese, which I don't speak. On the front it shows the red earth with all of the crosses of thos. Who lost their AT fields, and the giant Rei with wings. What the hell are these? I'm sure they aren't the Eva trading card game. They are "End of Evangelion" cards.
Does anyone know?

Yeah, pics of the front and back of the cards would be helpful so it could be easily identified.

I've seen these before, years ago. They're trading cards on the Carddass Masters line and they're pretty hard to track down. They probably look similar to this, but with the EoE theme you described, which if I remember right did have GNR on the front of it in the middle of Instrumentality. The Evangelion Trading Card Game is something completely different.

Yes, these are exactly as I imagined. I haven't seen these since at least 2005, it's been a long time. :smirk:

Each of these cards has information about EoE on the back of them. Bochan_bird translated some of them to include in Brendan Jamieson's FAQ as supportive evidence. Many of the cards contain information found nowhere else! Here's an example...

"In the sea of LCL, Shinji wished for a world with other people. He desired to meet them again, even if it meant he would be hurt and betrayed. And just as he had hoped/wanted, Asuka was present in the new world. Only Asuka was there beside him. The girl whom he had hurt, and who had been hurt by him. But even so, she was the one he had hoped/wished for...."

Sadly I don't know exactly which card states that, he wasn't very specific. But in any case, it is from that pack of cards, undoubtedly. There's many other examples in that link above. What you have there should definitely be kept, it is extremely rare. Perhaps we could get some kind of translation project going on those cards someday.

I had always assumed that the trading card game cards came from those EoE Cardass Masters packets, the one that LordCaldwell posted. However, that scan of Tokyo-3 there says otherwise, which means they are actually rare collector's cards. I was confusing the trading card game translations with the EoE packet scans that were posted. :facepalm:

Well, you learn something new everyday.

But in any case, that EoE packet is a collection of collector's cards. The trading card game has nothing to do with this, so you may disregard that translated quote I made above in regards to the EoE packet you scanned.

Hi, I've got a complete set of these cards, they're from the Carddass Masters 'Wide' range as opposed to just Carddass Masters and so are larger than normal trading cards for a sort of Widescreen movie look...
Included in the set there are 6SP cards + 42 cards relating to ep25/Air + 84 cards from ep26/The End of Eva for a total of 132.

Not sure if there was anything else you wanted to know?
