@NemZ: The order of the actions in the commands list, do indeed matter.
The charging-in idea is something we can discuss, although- I guess you've never seen Bruce Lee's one-inch-punch :]

@Ryjin: Non-player visitors to the thread are appreciated, thank you :]
Imagine aiming a sniper rifle, it helps to remain motionless to get in a more accurate shot. By moving around the board, the accuracy of an EvaUnit's shot falls.
True- by taking 6 paces and firing at an enemy only two spaces away from you, you wouldn't expect your shot to only be 40% likely to score a hit...
but in keeping with the "tactics" aspect of the game- I feel restrictions, weaknesses and planning/strategising around them are just as important to play as the empowerments.
(If that wasn't the answer you were looking for, you may need to re-phrase the question :$ )

I'm liking the strength-movement link idea, certainly something to consider.

The rules aren't set in stone...yet...but we can discuss and change things when this tutorial game ends.

Stochasticity Thank you Radio Lab, for the spelling

I decide on the enemy moves, but the battle phases selected for the enemy units are done so at random, through drawing cards to be more precise.
This keeps things fairer for you guys, as it retains the unpredictability of "real" fights and doesn't give the Game-Master (me) an advantage in phase selections.

Drawing cards is also used to decide the accuracy of shots. (If they hit or miss)

There are certain units and situations where you will notice a pattern of movements and actions, so observe carefully and know your enemy.

Extra Notes on Limb Damages

Naturally- when receiving attacks- there is a risk of injury to the arms and legs.

In the current working system, when an attack or shot is successful, there is a ...
60% probability that a unit's head/torso/main body mass will be hit (or "targetted") in a battle phase, (potentially) resulting in basic HP reduction.
20% probability the arms will be hit, (potentially) resulting in HP reduction AND damage to the arms.
20% probability the legs will be hit, (potentially) resulting in HP reduction AND damage to the legs.

If the arms or legs of a defending unit are hit in a battle phase-
and the defending unit fails to nullify the power of the enemy's attack-
then the targetted limb will be damaged and the condition of the limb will fall by one colour grade. As seen in your units' status updates.

Player and Enemy units have no choice over which limb they hit in a battle phase (although some may have special abilites to allow it);
the selection is random and unpredictable (rather like Evangelion-Angel fights, no?).

In future, we can introduce items (armour) and special abilities to allow players to protect their limbs and target the enemy's; but that's something for later.

Item Destruction

As we have just encountered, long-range weapons can be destroyed in battle.

If an EvaUnit has fired a LRW, we can naturally assume that the cannon is being held in the EvaUnit's arms/hands, right?
So, when the EvaUnit's arms are hit, then the cannon is hit with them.

Under this logic, the odds of a LRW being destroyed in a battle/shooting phase is 20%*, same as arms being damaged.
Of course- if the EvaUnit is able to nullify the power of the enemy's attack, then the EvaUnit's HP, arms AND LRW will all be safe.

*Things may get confusing here- if the EvaUnit has a Prog. Knife (or any other close-range weapon**) and has not fired its LRW since picking it up,
then the Prog. Knife can be seen as the weapon being held in the EvaUnit's hands, and the cannon out of harm's way.
^So in these situations, the cannon will not face potential destruction.
In situations where an EvaUnit holds two or three positron cannons at once, then the cannon fired most recently faces the risk of destruction. (Unless the EvaUnit is holding a Prog.Knife it has used even more recently)
In situations where an EvaUnit holds three cannons, but none have been fired, then the cannon picked up or owned first faces the risk of destruction.

**Close-range combat weapons are more durable than LRWs and won't be destroyed by enemy attacks, unless otherwise stated in their item descriptions.

Extra Notes on Limb Conditions

From "healthiest" to "least healthy", the order of limb conditions are as follows:
Green
Yellow
Red
Black I
Black II
Black III

Remember, an EvaUnit with arms and or legs under conditions: Green, Yellow and Red is free to move, battle/unison and shoot as normal.
Arms and or legs under condition Black(I,II,III) are useless, resulting in a handicapped (unable to battle/unison or shoot) and or immobile status (unable to move).

Upon receiving damage, a limb under condition: Green will lower to condtion: Yellow.
Receiving further damage, a limb under condition: Yellow will lower to condtion: Red.
However, receiving even further damage, a limb under condition: Red will lower straight to condtion: Black III.

Restoring a damaged arm/leg from Black(III) to Green will require 5 turns of regeneration.
...or one dose of Mendzymes, so it might be worth keeping some handy.

@chazthesilencer: Thanks that clear things up and the fact you use cards for random chance.... Hmmm, very interesting. Well that's all for now, I'm going to go back into lurk mode until I got more questions for ya.

Okay, I don't get it. I want to pick up the ammo, move and shoot MM with it; can this be done in one move or two?

A useful link, there's also a copy of it currently in my signature.

You can pick up an item and move.
You cannot pick up an item, move and battle/shoot.

Lemon can pick up those positron rounds and move into a firing position, but cannot shoot until next turn.

Here's a reminder of the enemies' SADE attributes.

PC5 – Call Maffew, we have a botch. I’m afraid the Special Air Service aren’t legal phase selections, you can't perform a strength attack twice.

Image vs. Image
Phase1: Image vs. Image = CC’s defence dampens Green’s attack. Takes 28 dmg, arms damaged.
Phase2: Image vs. Image = No attacks. No damages.
Phase3: Image vs. Image = Green takes no action. CC attacks. Deals 50 dmg.

I look forward to seeing how well / poorly you all work as a team, this turn.

We have witnessed our first critical hit. Needless to say, these are rare;
there is a 6% probability an attack will score a critical hit, tripling damage dealt.

Gah! God dammit, they are after the snipers! Good thing AyrYntake still had that old one on him, or things would be really bad...

Thanks for the cover, Legendary, but I'm gonna have to boogie out of there as much as I can. I'm no good for unison attacks, and I can't risk losing my weapon in another attack, which is rapidly running low anyway.

BTW guys, I've already hit SimBlu VV twice with my Cannon, it should be pretty weak by now...

@ Sammaeloo and Legendary: do you guys want to try a unison attack between yourselves? If only one of you wants to try, I might try to help - though that could be risky.
