I'm still having issues with needing to constantly re-login (and having to copypaste my posts so I don't lose them!) with the Forums. I'm using the regular Evageeks Wide banner so I'm pretty lost on what the problem is?

Re: Forum Wackiness
Are you using https? Did this change when we enabled CloudFlare a couple of months ago (after the DDDoD attacks)? Do you have any restrictive settings for cookies?

HTTPS always, I don't see any odd settings regarding Cookies and I believe this might've begun after the Cloudflare situation happened, yes. (Thanks so much for looking into this! )

Re: Forum Wackiness
Try using another browser - if that doesn't display the problem we know where to look (and you have a workaround pro tem).

I have the same problem - though it appears very erratically Sometimes I have to relogin after every click, sometimes not at all. I found that it helps if I check the Remember Me box. Also using https and no banner rotation. I use Safari as my Web-browser.

Me as well. It comes and goes. Clicking remember me does actually help.

Re: Forum Wackiness
OK, CloudFlare sets its own cache expiry time, which might be quite short, and I think this is the problem (the much faster rotation of the headers also suggests that). However, it will honour settings explicitly made in the origin server. I now need to see whether I can find that setting for the forum and modify it, either overall, or for the items concerned with login. This may take me a little while, as I am quite busy at the moment.
EDIT:
Hmm. My login cookies have the correct 1 year expiration already set.

Re: Forum Wackiness
Those of you having trouble, it would be helpfull if you could clear out all cookies relating to evageeks.org from your browser; this will force you to log in again, but the newly downloaded cookies may work better than the cleared out ones. Please try it and let me know. I have found a way to force everyone to have to login and get new cookies, but it would be more friendly not to do that unless I have to.

Re: Forum Wackiness
Chiming in here to report I've been having similar issues with being logged off randomly even though I'm actively using parts of this forum. This may seem kinda late in comparison to SSD and robersora's posts, but I generally don't log on here very frequently anymore.
I've cleared all my cookies and have restarted my browser (I use Chrome) and I've set the Remember Me function when I log in, though I generally prefer not to have that feature turned on. Will report back if I continue to have issues.

Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

It's happening with me and the 1 consistent trigger I have noticed is if I log in jump straight to a specific thread and open a reply window to start typing a reply it never fails to log me out before I can send the reply no matter how short I was typing but then when I log back in and send the reply it stays logged in. Weird.

I still think about this, but being unable to reproduce it is a great hindrance to determining what's happening here.

Understood, thanks for trying to help. [edit: wow, it hasn't logged me out yet this session]
Also 1 thing of note is it does it to me on multiple browsers on multiple devices so I don't think it's a cookies issue and I do clear those regularly.

Re: Forum Wackiness
But I also use multiple browsers on multiple devices...
I suppose that could be a clue that it's to do with individual accounts on the server rather than the server as a whole or browser settings. Perhaps I (and one of you) should make a second sock-puppet account and see if the behaviour is the same.

The behavior is so erratic, it's kinda hard to confirm tho. Yesterday I was thrown out after clicking just one link, while today I'm browsing just fine; sometimes it happens after a minute, sometimes not at all.

I've had the same erratic logouts when posting, but selecting "remember me" when logging in seems to help.
What makes it all the more bizarre is that I log out once I'm done here, but when I do, I get a message about the session information not matching and appear to remain logged in, unless I reload the page and try logging out again (which appears to help). Now I've been to a lot of sites over my time on the internet, and while I've had or heard about people having trouble logging in, I've never heard of a bug preventing them from logging out. And my logins on EGF are perfectly normal!

Fascinating...
It gives me some ideas, but I'm not sure I have the access to deal with them.

I had some problems, getting logged out very fast, but since then I've been pressing the Remember me thing every time, witch seems to have completely removed the issue.
