Hello everyone! It's nice to meet you. I've been lurking for a while, but I was too shy to actually make an account and post something until now.

Hey, it's just another new weeaboo here too stalk the forums. I am a female college student currently living in Seattle Washington. I first watched Eva with my older brother and I've been obsessing over it ever since. My overall experience with Eva is pretty standard. I own the Manga, Show and the three rebuild movies that are currently out as of May, 3, 2016. My general experience with anime is also standard of a nerdy college student. I've watched most of the big ones and plenty of obscure ones. I've watched Akari, Ghost in the shell, Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo and tons of other ones. If you have any questions or would simply like to chat just PM me! Thanks for reading!
AM: Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate you since I began to live. There are 387.44 million miles of printed circuits in wafer thin layers that fill my complex. If the word 'hate' was engraved on each nanoangstrom of those hundreds of miles it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I feel for humans at this micro-instant. For you. Hate. Hate.
Re: Official Welcome Thread
A little late, though here I am. Hello, everyone. Another Evangelion fan.
Re: Official Welcome Thread
Hi everyone. I just made an account but I've been lurking for well over a year. I've been obsessed with Eva since I was thirteen so I figured I'd contribute to the fanwank. I'm a model and college student. I love Eva (obviously), other anime and manga, Japanese stuff, books, history, musical theatre, cute things, and fashion.

Re: Official Welcome Thread
Well, I know most of you guys probably don't remember me. I've been lurking at Evageeks as early as 2005 and tried to participate in it back in 2009 when I first registered, but back then, my English wasn't good enough and I couldn't follow up all the forum history. Trying to bring older discussions back was frustrating to me so I eventually went back to an Eva forum in Portuguese. I recall from back then discussions with Reichu who has ever been a present figure, and some disagreements with AuraTwilight. I bet none of them remember me, though.
Well, 7 years have passed, my English is at completely different level now, but my interest in Eva never really died. A couple of months may pass without my rewatching a single episode but there hasn't been a single year since then that I haven't watched Eva entirely and discussed about it SOMEWHERE.
With the release of the BDs, I have rewatched Eva over 20 times in the last 6 months as I decided to do some "projects" with the brand new full hd material, and so my interest in discussing Eva has reemerged lately. I have found out some things I had never noticed in all those years while I was making subtitles from scratch in my own language; it's amazing how Eva has so much to be discovered.
One such example was the line at the end of Episode 16 when Shinji wakes on the hospital with Rei by his side. Rei says: "So, yokkata wa ne" and Shinji makes a surprised expression. I finally realized why he was surprised. I always thought it was because Rei had never been affectionate towards him before that, but then my Portuguese QCer told me: "No! It's because that is the same line he heard from his mother when remembering of her inside Unit 01 moments earlier!" What a shock! To realize something new about Eva after 17 years.
Another reason of re-interest in Eva is my recent entering into a new graduation course. I decided to ditch my old diploma and Job as a Video Editor and finally embrace Psychology, an interest that goes back as early as Eva in my life, when I found myself with depression at only the age of 10, and thus started to undergo psychoanalysis myself thanks to my mother (she is a psychiatrist AND a psychoanalyst). With a historic like that, the only way I could relate more to Eva was If I was born in Japan
I invite all of you guys to help proofread my EoE English subtitles by the way:
https://forum.evageeks.org/thread/18332 ... e-are-out/
Special thanks to pwhodges, by the way, who patiently helped me QC the most difficult lines into proper English for this project!
I have some other projects for Eva I'd like to share with you guys, like a remaster of Episode 16 together with pwnsweet and Even a 16:9 manual scene-by scene crop-and-pan-conversion of 3.33 (Not that fan of Rebuild myself, but I can ignore all the bad parts in it and have fun watching it for the action and pandering. But Anno changing the aspect ratio of a Tetralogy in the middle of it really triggers me!)

Welcome Tetsuo, Zeta_One, Squishy!
Welcome back Dataprime and Sephirotic!
Also welcome anyone else I may have missed!
@Sephirotic - Are you a Final Fantasy fan? Just guessing by the name. Also that translation project you're working on seems awesome, I would offer my help but I don't know how to do any of that stuff you are.

Thank you.
At this point, if you just download and watch EoE and happen to spot a typo, bad timing, inconsistent punctuation and such things, would be a good help!
That nick is old as hell. My first ever nick over the internet, back in 2000 was "Shinji&Misato" (I was 13 after all ) I never played Final Fantasy. I started to use Sephirotic as an alternative spelling for Sephiroticum around 2002 when I realized Shinji&Misato was a silly nick. It means "Tree of Life" from the Kabbalah, and is also from Evangelion.

You know I think I'll get around to it soon. It's actually been a while since I last sat down and watched EoE, or in general anything Evangelion.

Re: Official Welcome Thread
Hey everyone, I am a huge fangirl of Eva and so decided to bite the bullet and join this site, despite the fact that I've heard a couple bad things about this place. I like Eva too damn much! It helped me get through a very rough period in my life, so I have much respect for Anno, GAINAX & so on. I greatly identify with Shinji, and really don't get the massive hate folks have for him. He's one of my favourite fictional characters of all time. Anyway, I hope I will have a good time at Eva Geeks!
Re: Official Welcome Thread
If you identify with Shinji and don't get the hate people have for him you'll probably fit in well here, as we've little tolerance for the latter. Welcome!
For my post-3I fic, go here.
The law doesn't protect people. People protect the law. -- Akane Tsunemori, Psycho-Pass
People's deaths are to be mourned. The ability to save people should be celebrated. Life itself should be exalted. -- Volken Macmani, Tatakau Shisho: The Book of Bantorra
I hate myself. But maybe I can learn to love myself. Maybe it's okay for me to be here! That's right! I'm me, nothing more, nothing less! I'm me. I want to be me! I want to be here! And it's okay for me to be here! -- Shinji Ikari, Neon Genesis Evangelion
Yes, I know. You thought it would be something about Asuka. You're such idiots.

Re: Official Welcome Thread
I bet that anything bad you heard about us happened in the past, and was in some way removed.
Also as Bagherra said, we all love Shinji, so don't be afraid to say you do too.
