I had to take our oldest cat to the vets yesterday, because she'd developed an abcess and needed a couple of teeth pulling. Today, I brought her home, and after demanding MORE! FOOD! NOW! (and getting plenty), she went out and caught herself a pigeon for afters, having been home for only about an hour.

Here are my darling angels! Their names are Molly and Marzipan (though I have given them a plethora of silly nicknames, including Shinji and Asuka, respectively.) They are sisters from a litter of four. They make me very happy! Marzipan is the white one with stripes. She's a diva and acts very aloof. Despite trying to be cool and mysterious, she's very clumsy. Molly, on the other hand, is warm and friendly. She's the brown one. She's incredibly sweet and is also quite vocal.
They were born last November, so their birthday is coming up.

I have more pictures, just need to upload them to my computer.

He's so cute! His markings look similar to my cat Marzipans! Do you know what breed he is?

Don't let the shy face fool you. He's hyper almost all the time, barking at other dogs and horses that pass by.

Welcomed another new member of House Blue a couple weeks ago and a little sister for Poe; Raena Belle Graham:

She's an absolute spitfire and already bashes her considerably larger brother. They finally started to warm to each other after a week or so of hissing and biting.

Also, Poe's currently obsessed with this basket we pulled out of storage:

I shot with my mostly obsolete video camera and uploaded to my YouTube a little bit of Napoleon running around and getting up close to the camera. Such an adorable guy:

Yeah, she's a sweetie. I just wish she understood how big she is. That picture doesn't even really do her justice, it's two years old and makes her look smaller than she is. She's laying on a queen size for reference and when she stretches out (which she always does at night) she damn near takes up the whole thing.

Also thanks. I always find myself drifting away then drifting back.

Dang. Had no idea she was really that big. The picture has lied to me.

My dog Coco, mix of German Shepard & Shar-pei.
Dad brought her home when someone who could no longer take care of her left her at his fire station, it was right around hurricane Katrina and all the pounds/shelters were full, if we had taken her to one she would have been put down in days.

She sadly has a bit of a ongoing limp the past 6 months :sniffle:
Doc dismisses it as old age, but its hard to watch at times, altho it doesn't seem like she is in too much pain.

Speaking of old age and pets, I have a 16/17-year-old cat named Rifley. He's lost quite a bit of weight over the past year or so, which means we've switched him to a new food that's easier for him to digest. He isn't eating as much as he used to, but the than that he's holding up OK--he still can be rather active when he wants to, though he sleeps an awful lot, and the (ahem) contents of his litterbox are in good order.
Do you think he's in good health, taking his age into account? I hear all the time about cats living to be 18 or older and one of my neighbors had a cat who was 21 when she passed away, so I'm wondering. . .
Life can seem a challenge. Life can seem impossible. It's never easy when so much is on the line.

Sounds like it to me -- once they get into their teens, cats do get a bit scrawny (and benefit from a reduced-protein senior feed that lightens the load on their kidneys), but keep on keeping on until they suddenly stop. Getting an annual check-up, especially for the teeth, is a good idea anyway, and can spot other manageable conditions, like thyroid troubles.
