I just bought myself a birthday present -- amazon.co.jp's price had dropped to ¥ 28,119; by the time shipping and VAT got added back on, the total was just shy of £200, with delivery estimated at the start of next week (priority shipping was the only option offered, but it was far the smallest item on the tally).

Still got 2 days on my Amazon Japan order. While it's already in Seattle (the hub only ~100 miles away from me), DHL is going to just sit on it for 2 days because its preordained "scheduled delivery date" is the 2nd.
I wish that either HMV Japan ($398) or CDJapan ($500) had a better price for the box sets, as those stores use EMS and FedEx which both suck far less. That's what I get for being a cheap so-and-so though and getting them for $363...

I somehow managed to forget that I had a birthday this month and my kin still insist on giving me money. (The latter hasn't happened yet because my party has been delayed into Labor Day.) So with Amazon's price going down so far from what I initially expected, I was all, "WOOOOOOOOO!" and ordered the damn thing. I'm sure I can cover whatever my birthday checks don't.
Now, if only I had a computer that could actually support a BD Drive, I'd be set...

Wait, its that how the BD actually looks? Seems like a good improvement.
Is there anyway I could find true comparison screen shots of the previous versions to this one? It's been out for almost a week so I think things like that would be up by now?

There have been many posted earlier in this very thread! Reading can do wonders!
BlueBasilisk Yes! They included a special feature on Disc #9 in the Blu-ray set that plays 'One More Final: I need you.' in its entirety except Asuka's last line is changed. Asuka says "Anta nankani korosareru nowa mappira yo" Instead of "Kimochi warui".
He then played every song from 1993. The crowd applauded as he curtsied bashfully.

Whee. My blu-ray box just got cleared through customs. It should arrive at my workplace office tomorrow or the day after.
I did "acquire" the subbed copy of EoE through "other channels", and boy oh boy does it look great!

The art of being grown up, the dirty little secret nobody lets on about, is that it's all about getting comfortable with acting the part, and reaching that point where you stop giving a fuck, and do stuff that needs to be done, because it just needs doing, and ain't nobody else going to do it for you. -Mr. Tines

So according to Oricon, the first week of sales:
BD Box - 22,775
DVD Box - 3,578
That's not too bad considering these are pricey boxes and not single volumes that it's mostly competing against. Still ended up #1 for the week. #2 Blu-ray spot was Disney Short Film Collection Blu-ray+DVD Set with 14,779, also in its' first week of sales.

Reallllyyy not out to make anyone jealous, but I've received that blu-ray box and it's gorgeous. I'm even paying for Macgo Blu ray Player so I can watch them without watermark. But (and of course I knew this going into it) it doesn't have english subs. Now I can open english subs with Macgo Blu Ray Player, but does anyone know of anyone that has already done this. Because I'm unfamiliar with all the different kinds of Death&Rebirth etc I wouldn't know what subs to put where. Also, because I've still legally bought the whole package, I hope this isn't seen as asking to pirate something.
