Nintendo email wrote:Hello,

Thanks for writing. I checked your account and can see that you don't qualify for the Mewtwo DLC because Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS was not successfully registered to your Club Nintendo account.

I realize this must be disappointing. I'd like to point out that the Mewtwo DLC will also be available to purchase through the Nintendo eShop beginning on 4/28/15.

I was appalled with the rather casual tone of the modder behind SkyUI (perhaps the most used mod than any other, and a lot of mods depend on it), who basically said on the Beth forums that the next version will be set behind a paywall, not knowing that at least a certain Chesko had pulled out some of his work due to IP issues, but he can't delete them because those mods are now Beth/Valve property.

WHAT :jawdrop:

The low-level stuff currently behind the paywall was bad enough, but now one of the game's top mods, listed as #1 on Nexus's Top Files page, is buying into it as well?

Unfortunately, yes, and another SkyUI dev, a Mardoxx, brought out his true colors by picking a fight with a lot of Redditors, calling them names. Given the language, he was basically "take it or leave it":

http://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/33tz6q/official_sw_monetization_discussion_thread_day_3/cqof0ef

There's been talk about creating a SkyUI substitute, because the one mistake done by those devs was hosting the code in Github, and so someone made a fork of the project (hopefully archiving it quick before the original code could be destroyed at any moment).

Oh, yeah, GabeN had a AMA, and it was clear that he was pretty much out of touch by dodging questions, and the more important questions were made by the Brit guy running Nexus.

I still find it amazing that the indecision of one man combined with the lack of public consultation and in-depth research, could undo nearly two decade's worth of work, trust, and community in a weekend, almost igniting a civil war.

More here:
http://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/33tz6q/official_sw_monetization_discussion_thread_day_3/

I didn't came to modding with dollar signs in my eyes, I just wanted to fix things.

Could anybody help me? I'm pretty illiterate in terms of computers, and now my Macbook seems to have serious trouble, it cannot boot into my account any longer. I tried all the shortcuts, while booting, but it doesn't react. It boots very slowly, then stops and a prohibition sign shows up instead of the apple. However, I can log into guest mode, but it's a twisted guest mode, where only Safari exists (I'm writing in this mode currently) Also, I can choose my "boot-volume". But when I click on it, it says it cannot find enough informatin to boot. This is the built-in volume, I'm talking about. I'm afraid, my Computer is broken. But if my Computer is broken, why would I be able to use the guest mode?

When you say guest mode, do you by chance mean the recovery mode (cmd+shift+r)? That has safari available, as well as disk utility. The symbol you're getting at boot indicates that your boot volume is either corrupted in some way, or that there's a hardware failure going on. What year is your macbook from and which model is it? Can you boot into recovery mode and use disk utility to verify your hard drive?

Thanks for trying to help. My Macbook is from 2011.
I'm sorry, I might use the false expressions, since all is written in German on my end, haha.
Ahm, well. I finally got into the recovery mode, where it told me, that my hard drive (hitachi something), cannot be repaired.
Now all my photos of my Japan-trip are lost. :sniffle:

If you have to replace the disk, remove it and keep it safe. Then find someone who has the geek credit to work with damaged or faulty disks. I'm in the wrong country to help, but I have recovered data and pictures from disks in this state, sometimes using the freezer as part of the process! Commercial companies can do lots more, but you're looking at multiple €00's for that...

Definitely look into what pwhodges suggested. I've known people to have good success with data recovery. As far as the drive failure, I had the same problem with my 2011 macbook and Hitachi HDD. I installed an SSD and the thing never worked better. If you can take the time to learn and watch some step by step examples, you could probably install a 250GB for about €100 and reinstall your OS from the recovery menu and have it work better than ever, as long as the HDD was the only point of failure.

This is also a painful lesson, but a good one. It reinforces that all your important data should be backed up in at least two places. Apple's time machine is a very nice and simple method for doing so.

Thank you very much. Unfortunately I know nobody who's good with that stuff, me included. I'll go to a store tomorrow, and hold out hope that maybe they have one trick up their sleeve.
Could I tell them to recover just some specific data? Like my pictures? (So that it won't cost as much)

You should be able to recover any data that's on the drive. It depends on the damage, and I can't say how much it would run, but more than 50% recovery should be fairly easy.

Spending all day working on group projects and creating PowerPoints is not my idea of fun. Especially when we have to turn something in really quickly an hour before its due because someone forgot to bring it up at the meeting.

Takes one dumbass to cause a headache to everyone else. I would've yelled at him for even forgetting in what's obviously a very important meeting.

My aunt was recently diagnosed with acute Leukemia and from what I can gather it looks like she isn't going to live for very long. I'm starting to get really worried about my grandma since this would be the second child she lost (she is my paternal grandma and my dad died of AIDS about 10 years ago) and since she is 78 I would not be very surprised if she passed as well. And with that, I would have absolutely no family besides my half brother (and we aren't close for various reasons) since my mom also died of AIDS about 5 years ago.

Weird but one of the first thing that comes to mind is that I will no longer have the small Thanksgiving lunch, a small table with just the four of us with a football game with the Lions losing by 30 in the background.

Damn it. :( I hoped that everything with your family would be smooth (as it could be), from there on out.

I moved from my tiny family to Zap's huge one (half-Alabama, half-central Texas)--plenty of love and attention to go around, if you're ever in the area. Seriously, it's like Katamari where everyone's a cousin!

Contact me if you need anything, OK, Hons?

I dropped my N3DSXL on the patio (several days ago by now) and scratched the paint job. :( I wasn't even standing, I was sitting in a low rocking chair and it fell out of my pocket. It's extremely minor -- two little scratches in easily the least visible and matter-ful parts of the machine (the bottom corners of the back half) -- but I was so enjoying the perfection of the device's appearance that just knowing these tiny scratches exist irks me. If I'd already had it for like a year I doubt I would have cared, but the darn thing was still in the shiny new hotness phase!

Can you maybe paint it? I don't know if you could maybe remove the shell and give it a nice shiny new coat of paint with a spraycan...
