Eager to see what Sadamoto came up with on Vol 14.
Honestly, tho, I anticipate Sadamoto's CD.
I bet he listens to Zelda. :P That geek.
The Eva-Zelda relations are way stronger than you can ever imagine.

I'm really curious about that thing that looks like it might be some sort of holder for the entire manga series.

It's times like this when I wonder why Sadamoto wasn't ever a full on key animator or animation director on Eva as well as a character designer. The guy objectively does THE best Evangelion artwork.

EDIT: Okay, so he was an assistant director on 2.0 and a key animator/director on 1.0, but still. If only Evangelion's animation could look more like his drawings. Not to say that the animation is bad, mind you.

Why would volume 14 have Touji on the cover, though?

I'm guessing no reason at all, since he died in the manga multiple volumes ago. It's just a glory shot with all the pilots.

Maybe he was added to the new material that Sadamoto is creating

While normally I'm a great fan of continuity, this illustration is so awesome that I find myself thinking: I don't care why, I love this picture.

The same reason he's on the Death & Rebirth cover art.

Because of pandering. I'm surprised Mari isn't there.

Toji doesn’t have such a huge fan base where pandering to them would be an effective sell out. I would only make that argument of the cover was littered with hundreds of Maris making out with an equal number of Kaworus.

You think we might see Toji in Instrumentality?

Maybe because she simply doesn't exist in the manga continuity? There's a limit even to pandering, even though Sadamoto draws gorgeously Mari :

Seriously, that is the most fananked theory I've ever heard, more than Mari being Marty McFly travelling through time to keep her parents (Asushin) together. -- Jäeger
