I might have posted this before, but I felt that with all the censorship (violence and nudity), the rest of the show was too weak to make it enjoyable past the first three episodes, although you can cherry pick some enjoyable scenes out of the other episodes. If there's a significant amount of new uncensored content, it might redeem this show in some small way.
God, Apparently you all have been discussing Q since November. Catching up on the discussion is harrowing.

Any time someone wants a sequel to their favorite anime, someone invariably replies, "Well, it didn't do good in Japan..."

-On EMF, as a thread becomes longer, the likelihood that fem-Kaworu will be mentioned increases exponentially.
-the only English language novel actually being developed in parallel to its Japanese version involving a pan-human Soviet in a galactic struggle to survive and to export the communist utopia/revolution to all the down trodden alien class and race- one of the premise being that Khrushchev remains and has abandoned Lysenko stupidity

There's enough similarly themed exploitation anime out there that no sequel to this will ever be necessary. It's not like we're dying to know what happens to Pair of Tits with a Body # 138509123.

Zombies? Tits? Guns? Fanservice?

Dude, it's like a conglomeration of my adolescent fantasies. Let me have this.

Yep. And I hope they deal with the fallout of that in season 2. I refuse to back down from my central thesis: HotD is a great show with worthwhile characters and damn good animation, buried underneath a sea of unnecessary fan service. If they would dial that back and focus on the legitimately interesting characters more, we could have something great.

can't tell if trolling, or...
anyway, do you really expect to get something more than ZOMBIESLASHINGFANSERVICE from HotD??
I really think, you should watch the walking dead. There's everything you wish for including real characters, action, thrilling experiences and an ever extending season count.

Not trolling. Just holding a minority opinion. I understand that people don't like it as much as I do. But I see a real gem in HotD and I do expect more than TNA from HotD because it has more to offer. Again, I like the characters, I like their development, and I like the story. Why is that so crazy?

And not to derail the topic, but the reviews I have heard of "Talking" Dead don't inspire much in me. I read the first couple of trade paperbacks of the comic and they were fine, but they got formulaic. I hear the series has just gotten bogged down in its own lackluster characters.

I'll just let you know that you are (not) alone in your thinking there, Oni.
Of course we should expect more than TNA, Dixie Carter still has a lot of work to do that wasn't a comparison, was it?

I won't disagree with this comment, but a short list of toons that deal with themes such as the downfall of society, survival and mankind's violent nature (done as well as HOTD) would be appreciated; because I haven't found them yet.

The first two or three episodes of "The Walking Dead" were awesome, and you should definitely watch them. After that, the show gets kind of repetitious and boring.

I, too, wouldn't mind seeing more HSotD.

A video aptly summing up the non-violent part of the series.

Is it at all surprising that the guy who drew this was a Hentai artist?

lol'd irl

anyway i don't know whether i'm excited by this or not. HSOTD has so much potential to turn into a full-on fascist nationalist zombie action/hentai fusion series but the Japanese censors being as they are, this will never happen, leaving me perpetually blueballed by shlock that can't get as shlock as it needs to be.
Nothing is so valuable that it need not be started afresh, nothing is so rich that it need not be enriched constantly.

Any single zombie apocalypse story gets boring after a while. The outbreak is cool. Learning to survive an urban killing field is cool. Escaping said killing field is cool. And why not have a violent encounter a couple of people that personify the immediate decline of humanity? Hitting all these beats is what makes a good zombie apocalypse. Stay on any of these beats for too long, and you better have a compelling cast of characters. HotD's female characters are all moeblobs, and the male protagonist is an empty audience surrogate. All are anti-character. HotD sorta hopes we'll find panty flashes an acceptable substitute for Walking Dead-style dramatics (which I personally find exhausting). Apparently not even Japan is ready to embrace an anime that is nothing but gore, cowardly softcore porn, and gun porn.

This anime was pretty much good for boobs, more boobs, and the ever-present panty shot. It wasn't even good for the zombies. Personal opinion here.
