Hey, how can you tell yours is a bootleg? It kind of looks like mine here:

So I really hope it doesn't mean I ended up getting a bootleg as well...

The original version had six discs and a bonus disk. I think there's another release that didn't include the bonus disk, but I'm a bit fuzzy on that. Point is you can't really tell whether or not it's a bootleg based on number of disks alone, as it might be an alternate release or a legit release without the bonus disk.

As to how you can tell: serial number, company that released the album, and phone card. If any of these things are off it's probably a bootleg (well, if the phone card's absent that doesn't mean anything, but if it's there it's definitely legit).

Edit: Looking at your pics it looks like yours has the serial number and the telephone card, so you can rest assured that your copy is legit!

People's deaths are to be mourned. The ability to save people should be celebrated. Life itself should be exalted. -- Volken Macmani, Tatakau Shisho: The Book of Bantorra
I hate myself. But maybe I can learn to love myself. Maybe it's okay for me to be here! That's right! I'm me, nothing more, nothing less! I'm me. I want to be me! I want to be here! And it's okay for me to be here! -- Shinji Ikari, Neon Genesis Evangelion
Yes, I know. You thought it would be something about Asuka. You're such idiots.

Ah, cool - Thanks Bags. I recall you and Jay helping me out in that above linked thread too.

Yeah, I was about to say, it does have a serial number, the right record label, phone card, etcetera. So just as I thought - Should be safe...

-o-;

To stay on topic to the thread however, here's an update of mine own collection:

That should be interesting. I wonder if they're similar to the MP Eva plushie that came with the theatrical box set from 1998?

Then again, since you said they were "chibi", perhaps they could be from Petit/Puchi Eva, in which case there wouldn't be too much resemblance...

Other than the Paul Champagne tin I don't think any of the other NA release packaging has that extra Wow! factor either.

The big one is here. They're not screen accurate in any way, but they're adorable.

The box for the Platinum singles was pretty good if you ask me. The construction of the box itself wasn't anything special, but the art choices were excellent.

Thanks :)

I treasure the EoE and D&R boxset the most - to have it is rare ; but to have it sealed is like omgeafoawfawpofawpofjawpfoafopaja.......

It must be the only sealed copy in existence (Well, definitely one of the five if-be) I was particularly lucky as I did not spend a fortune on my collection :)

Although I don't know what to do with it - once I'm older, or even dead, will all this matter? At the end of the day it's just DVD's.

Don't worry about Ritusko though, she has enough problems of her own.

Hallo all! New here! Found this site through my persistent search for rare items related to Evangelion! I hope through this forum, I may also find people who may guide me toward the right direction in finding my most desired rare collectables from Evangelion!

Since I am on the forum where everyone is sharing their collections, here is mine (sorry I don't have photos yet):

DVD:
- Evangelion 1.11 (US edition)
- Evangelion 2.22 (US edition)

merch:
- Revoltech Extra Position Rifle/ESV Shield Set
- Medicom Kubrick EVA-02 Production Model
- Medicom Kubrick Makinami Mari Illustrious
- Bandai Gainex Hybrid Chogokin Super Evangelion Anima figure

books/magazines:
- Evangelion Anima Visual Book
- The Art of Evangelion 2.0 You (Can)Not Advance - The Complete Records Art Book 2-Volume Boxed Set (first print limited edition run includes 2-volume storyboards book & 35mm film print from film)

Aside from anxiously awaiting the third (and eventually 4th) movie to be released on DVD/Blu Ray, what I am looking hard for to add to my current collection:

- The original boxed set AND the two additional DVDs of the original Evangelion series
- The Art of Evangelion 1.0 2-volume Boxed set
- Super Evangelion Weapons Rack Arming Tree
- Bandai Evangelion HG EVA 01 Type F Model Kit

And, if there is a release (hopefully) The Art of Evangelion 3.0 Art Book Boxed Set as well. Haven't heard any news about that one aside from the recent posts last year I saw of the character sheets! I'm assuming that that is a sign that there will be a release? I can only hope!
