New Evangelion Characters? [Eva Store Wall]

Looks good. The seven on the right are obvious, and I didn't realize it at first but those three in the middle are definitely Aoba, Maya, and Hyuuga.

The trio to the immediate left of the bridge bunnies are probably either flashback Kaji, Misato, and Ritsuko or flashback Gendo, Yui, and Naoko.

The big bald guy gives me a Keel kind of feeling, but I dunno. The three to the left of the Obvious Seven I can't even begin to guess about. Most likely brand new characters (maybe SEELE members or Mari's people?)

Someone on that ANN thread seems to think that what we generally think is Hyuga is actually Touji and thats Kensuke to his left. I can see where he/she is coming from but he/she is definately wrong, you make make out the sticky-out back bits of Hyuga's hair.

But yeah, everyone except mari, Rei and Asuka appears to be 'out of uniform' and presumably wearing kit on sale in the store. Plus thats a party-size bag of Eva-sponsored Doritos that Maya's holding.

Yeah. When first glancing at the image I also thought maybe Kensuke and Touji were in the mix, but nope, it's without a doubt the Bridge Bunnies and some unknown characters.

It would be strange and virtually unprecedented for eva character to appear alongside ones from other shows. Especially strange given that this mural is attached to an Eva merchandise shop.

Well unless he resorted in a lazy rapper outfit, I'd say it's likely those are hospital clothes.

And of course, Rei appears to be in a plugsuit instead of hospital clothes herself. Hmm. This movie's gonna be interesting if "the story will move swiftly to a grim direction and it is expected to cause divided opinion." still holds water!

If Asuka was as tall as what I think is Second Impact Misato, I'd say that she would be Asuka with that helmet from the second next time preview. Though Second Impact Misato doesn't seem to be wearing a helmet. And what I think could be Mari's parents or somebody from Bethany (or Tabgha) Base is wearing some kind of Russian hat like mentioned already.

What I'm wondering is whether these character designs are actually finalized at this point or if they'll go on tweaking stuff for another 6-8 months.

If we get non-silhouette versions on the 10th December once the new batch of magazines hits the stands then this'll actually be proper news.

I guess Shinji wearing his hospital outfit is ruled out too (he probably is wearing some shorts/t-shirt combo), unless the hospital outfit gets a different design, such as him wearing hospital shorts.

In the cast picture it looks like Shinji's wearing clothes several sizes too big for him. Maybe he's given up his life of privilege to live modestly as a pauper.

I would guess an oversized hoodie (note the bumps on the shoulder, which are too far down to be a collar), shorts and maybe like...sandals or crocs or something?

^Looks to me like Shinji's in a hospital gown or something. After 2.0's ending, I wouldn't blame him for taking a short leave. Who knows how he was left physically/psychologically. Either that or he's into the baggy sweatshirt, shorts, and slipper fad. Can't blame him for that.

Woah. Information overload. It'd be quite the task to add so many characters to the cast in the next movie, and at least make them somewhat relevent. Perhaps SEELE has more insurance this time?

But I am excited. New characters are always intriguing :) Flashback versions of characters now will also be interesting I suppose.
