I F**KING DROPPED IT. Why did you trick me into seeing lolicon, Mr. Tines? I'll admit that at first my claim of it being pedo-bait was a tad baseless, then I found out that there are loli clubs at MAL with this series being mentioned. I am very disturbed right now. :scared: I found this out this morning and figured "maybe it's not really a loli anime and it just.... grew a crowd." So I watched ep 3 and since it didn't really improve from the first two eps............. Yeah.

However I will give Mr. Tines a chance to explain himself and if he makes a convincing case I'll give this series one more shot.

Really, you HAVE to stop playing the stupid card. People can see it from mile away now, or just assume you really are that dumb.

You are allergic to loli ?

More like I have an extreme dislike for pedophilia. :yuck: When it's involved I automatically dislike it because it's just plain disgusting (which is why my posts seem contradictory as Ornette pointed out). Gundam in skirts this is not. For the first time ever I take this off of my MAL profile, indicating that I did not have jack s**t to do with it.

And to get the bad taste out of my mind I decided to start watching the Ryu Knight OVAs, specifically the first ep of the first one. I'm not a fan of Adeu's new hair, but other than that this has potential.

Just one thing: pedophilia is not equal to lolicon, which in turn is not equal to enjoying watching loli characters in a show.

Minors (especially ones that haven't even hit puberty) shown in under garments/nude/provocative positions/clothes and the series is shown at a late time slot for adults that enjoy that kind of...... "stuff". Sounds very similar to pedophilia if you ask me.

I still can't believe I watched three episodes of this before fully realizing what this really was.

^ All those things you mentioned above are known facts before you need to start watching the show...

And yeah, even with what you said above I still do not equal that as pedophilia but I shall leave it at that.

I did look up info on........ Ugh, do I HAVE to refer to it by name? I went to MAL and Anime New Network, neither of them put lolicon in the genre sections and the latter said "mild" for content. Also considering the fact that the first two series actually had a US release it wouldn't make sense for loli "stuff" to get over here. I literally had zero indication (and I'm really wishing I did).

No loli indicator in MAL or ANN? Anyway, the content is indeed "mild" for many people (though it is still a loli show) and the fact that there is US release means the "mild" tag is not a mistake. Perhaps you should consider yourself a lot more sensitive to loli material than many others, which means you should seek wider advice if you suspect a show is associated with "lolicon" as you understand it.

Zilch.

Better idea: Never take recommendations again. Ever.

Because it's not. If you want to see what kind of shows actually are, just click on the "loli" tag: http://myanimelist.net/anime.php?tag=loli

It's just like watching women's gymnastics isn't loli, or the fact that depictions of under age girls that are appropriately dressed for the given environment (e.g. in the privacy of their own homes) doesn't constitute loli. By your definition, Eva and Gunbuster are both loli.

Stop playing the stupid card. If you think Nanoha is lolicon, you should seriously (and I mean this) reconsider watching anime altogether, or put on the glasses that you wear when you watch shows like Aquarion and somehow come out of it thinking there's no cross-dressing.

A loli is a small underaged girl.
Usually super innocent, cute, etc.

Strange, I don't see Nanoha on there. Symbv claims it is lolicon and it's not there, but at the same time MAL loli clubs like it and with the claim of a late time slo- Darn it now I'm really confused! :???:

I've told you this before: this is not believable coming from a guy whose username references Gravion, a show with lots of really blatant loli fanservice. Besides, it looks like you didn't drop the 08th MS Team after Kiki's erotic skinny-dipping scene, or Gundam X after Tifa's skinny-dipping scene. But hey, if you want to start being consistent with your knee-jerk reactions, here's a fair warning: drop Dancougar while you still can, because things are going to get all awkward with Masato and Laura.

I said it is a loli show not it is lolicon. Perhaps not much difference to you though...

And if Strike Witch carries a loli tag then I think Nanoha should carry one too. But I still want to stress that the "mild content" label is not a mistake.

To be honest this annoys me more than anything else because TDSA's childish obsession with "manlyness" and his equally naive and childish understanding of the concept reminds me of my 9 year old little brother... yet guy is my age for cryin' out loud.

(ignoring that you don't understand what pedophilia means, that lolicon doesn't equal with pedophilia or that loli character doesn't automatically equal with lolicon I must say ) Oh good lord this is just unbeliavable. TDSA, you're the most masterful case study in cognitive dissonance I've seen on this forum and yes, that's counting likes of Jimbo who have mastered the art of making logically inconsistent claims in same post right next to each other and then masking them with tons of long phrases and smoke and mirrors. This is just staggering

Aquarion, Eva, nearly every single freaking thing by Go Nagai (he ain't stranger to loli fanservice either, in loads) and the like all should fly out of the window if you had any integrity with this thing. You should stop watching anime in the first place, save for Ghibli titles and few others.

Yet you love the stuff likes of Obari and Nagai churn out when both are knee-deep in porn side of things to begin with (featuring as a rule legally minor characters no less). Every single thing I've seen by Obari has had fanservice and often lolis too (I'm discounting his actual 18+ stuff here because obviously those go way beyond fanservice) while Go Nagai has built his reputation out of being the sleaziest, vilest classic mangaka out there. The cacophony of violence, gore, sex and general depravity is what defines nearly everything the guy touches.

I can't take seriously Go Nagai fan blasting pretty much anything as somehow depraved. Fittingly enough this week I saw both Hanappe Bazooka and Abarashi Ikka and by gods those were some of the most disgusting filth I've seen in OVA form, chockful with sexual depravity from rape onwards.

Totoro, Spirited Away - naked children
Porco Rosso - jailbait skinny-dipping

I'm sure there's more, but I'm too tired at the moment.

I never knew there was a difference until today.

After checking out the MAL profiles of the shows, the loli link Ornette posted, and the lolicon clubs associated with Nanoha as it turns out nothing I've watched with the exception of apparently Nadesico has to do with lolicon of any kind (and even with Nadesico there's little fan service and that club is more for characters instead of genres; not to mention Nadesico's ridiculous popularity can cause ultra-nerdy assumptions).
I've told you this before: this is not believable coming from a guy whose username references Gravion, a show with lots of really blatant loli fanservice.

At least in Gravion there are older women and if I remember correctly the "lolis" in question were never shown nude; not to mention the series is centered around mechs fighting alien cyborgs rather than ecchi comedy.
Besides, it looks like you didn't drop the 08th MS Team after Kiki's erotic skinny-dipping scene, or Gundam X after Tifa's skinny-dipping scene.

Scenes that lasted 30 seconds in 13/39 episode long series with the latter not having nude shots = Dropping said series that aren't lolicon or even anything close? Really? Seems a tad extreme.

Exactly one adult female, rest are minors and jailbait aka PEDO SHIIIIT

based on the shower/bath scene Nick posted earlier you have the memory of a goldfish

while we're at it I'd like to add ZZ Gundam to TDSA's lolicon anime sin list. PURU PURU PURU

btw, you're also implying Nanoha centers around "ecchi comedy"
