Idea!

Few things say "Mom" more than Eva! So why not celebrate by posting some Evangelion themed mothers day cards.

So if you have photoshop, and talent(I lack both), why not share your creations!

Not really surprising, actually. Most Eva pics eventually end up filtering through THAT BOARD, and most of the posted fan-arts originate from pixiv or dA (if not artists' personal sites accessible from those places).

This has probably been discussed to death somewhere else, but I think Yui was a good parent given the circumstances she was under. She deserves a mother's day card, at least.

That Yui, a warm, shiny source of comfort spelling out the positive messages of the show once in a while is by many seen as a villainess on SEELE's level just shows how ppl lose sight of the actual story and focus too much on "technicalities"/mechanics of stuff left intentionally vague/only adressed by supplementary material.
Once they have assigned a "meaning" to each and everything, they start talking about the metaphors and not about the actual literal happenings.
also, whatever is said in the actual show apparently has to mean the opposite.
Ppl theorize a lot about, uh, the stuff revealed in the CI, but hardly anyone tries to fill the holes in, let's say, Shinji's backstory that is left very vague at times (considering he's the protagonist) and much more integral to the story and its lessons.

Maybe you didn't notice (I didn't until someone pointed it out), but as EVA 01 merges with the GNR in Rebuild, you see a waterflea-like vascular system with a realistically heart appear inside EVa 01, as if it had become transparent. Rei's head is moving towards the heart/that's the point were they're merging together, NOT the core.
Now, it would be very cute and romantic that Rei is sort of melting into Shinji's heart, if that blood vessel thing didn't look so FREAKIN CREEPY.
WAFFy disturbing.

I did some sketches elaborating on the "Rei-tumor molesting Eva-01" thing, but I don't think the other staff would like it if I posted those. I guess I could do something with the "heart" angle that would be SFW, but the question is... do you really WANT me to? :3

And, yes, I have done WAFFy things that might be interpreted as disturbing. Relevant to this thread, even! -- well, if unarmored versions of the Evas toting infant-Eva-things could be considered relevant. None of those are uploaded right now, so have this comforting tribute to motherhood instead. (The angry 4-eyed bitch is... guess... and the one getting throttled is the bitch's beloved offspring, an ACC of mine.)
