You know your cosplay is too hot when you need to install air conditioning...

Good cosplays and Chibibunny that is very clever about the cooler.

I would love to go to Otakon someday.

Just saw this and I must say, I like it. :-)

That is good GrummanCat. I look forward to seeing more.

Chibibunny713 I have a question about this link http://www.blackstyle.de/lshop,showdetail,1265292022-27495,e,1265292073-27581,meterware.meterwaretransparent,47032033292,,Tshowrub--meterware.meterwaretransparent,.htm

Is that fabric very see through as you see your flesh through it? If so thanks for the link and will consider it for my test suit. I would like it to be as close to the anime as it can, as Asuka does say it is very revealing. ;-p

Well done on the test suit, it looks amazing and I like the way you added originality to it, with the legs.

The schoolgirl uniform makes it less creepy for everyone.

Do you mind revealing where you ordered the costume from?

THANKS! We got it from Moon Costumes. Had to look for a while to find one where the skirt was long enough.

From the looks of it, it doesn't appear transparent enough.

Wow she is a gorgeous Asuka. I really like the Asuka's facial expression, very mature. I started working on my Rei school uniform.

@Sachi: yes that is what I worry about but thought it would be an idea to ask Chibi as maybe the picture is different. I am thinking it might be differcult to find transparent orange fabric, might go for netted material but that would look too punk. ;-p

@Otakon 08 Ikari: I agree lulubird is amazing as Asuka and her sister Ayanamiyay is an amazing Rei and is an inspiration for my own Rei cosplays.

I think this girl makes a fantastic Rei. I came across her on cosplayer's cure. Have many seen her? She is another inspiration.

chibibunny713, you must have to beat away all the guys, especially the geeky ones, with a lead pipe. You have some amazing costumes.

I do believe I´ve found the best Ayanami and Asuka cosplayers out there (at least, the best from my experience):

Image

I originally came across the Asuka cosplay in a youtube video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWIzBr7-97o

the youtube video description box contains links to her www.cosplay.com page :D

Personally, I feel these two beat any of the previous cosplayers I´ve seen through the years...including the Japanese cosplayers hired during promotional acts (read: rebuild marketing :P). Not only do they look as if they were Rei and Asuka, but their costumes are also superbly made (made by themselves!).

Did anyone have the luck to see them at Otakon 2010? Or maybe even, the two girls already have accounts in evageeks forums and I´m just being ignorant? :P

Ah, yes. I just discovered these two over on THAT BOARD and I have to agree that those are the best plug suits I've ever seen. They must have some serious skills to be able to make those themselves. Not only that, but they look the part, too.

EDIT: Welcome to the forums, by the way. Be sure to stop by the gift shop* before you leave. We have keychains and overpriced lemonade.

*Gift shop may not actually exist.

Indeed. Considering how I´ve never seen a Rei cosplayed by a non asian that looked good...I don´t know, it´s something to do with the wig, no one gets it right. And that Asuka...dayum :P

haha, thanks :D I´m more looking for a NERV mug...not falling for the Gainax cashcow :P
