Personaly I'd say that it's fine for a while, but could have been better if they added some more angels and consistant gameplay, what's your thougts.

I remember emulating this in like.... 2006 or something? I don't even know why I decided to do so, but this was my first and only foray into the world of emulators, lol.
I think it's a fun idea, but the controls are horrible... Much more interested in playing 3nd impact, tbh.

The game is really weird and has clunky controls. But I'd say it has its charme.
Also, how great is it listening to the OST, with songs like Komm susser Tod sounding like they belong in Mario 64?
And yes, 3nd Impact is awesome. I actually got a PSP this christmas and have been playing it.
Shinji: "Sooner or later I'll be betrayed... And they'll leave me. Still... I want to meet them again, because I believe my feelings at that time were real."
Ryuko: "I'm gonna knock ya on your asses!"
-Asuka: THINK IN GERMAN!!! -Shinji: Öh... Baumkuchen...
Hayashida: "As game developers, our work is special. All of us here can put smiles on very many people's faces with our work."

Which one are we talking about exactly? There are kinda a few of them.
Not that I've actually played any of them, but I am a good bit into the lore of some of them
I can see why Gendo hired Misato to do the actual commanding. He tried it once and did an appalling job. ~ AWinters

The movies function on their own terms. If people can't accept them on those terms, and keep expecting them to be NGE, then they probably should have realized a while ago that they weren't going to have a good time. ~ Words of wisdom courtesy of Reichu

I think Bandai wisely took advantage of the movie's hype to launch a game and show off its graphics power on Nintendo 64, something more focused on fans and perhaps not on casual gamers of the time, the 2D-pseudo 3D perspective missions reminds me a little when I played Ultraman for SNES. The gameplay is as they said, the controls themselves do not follow a pattern throughout the game, with some missions, for example, I find the mission to defeat Israfael funny, if you miss the required commands, you will get a furious Asuka, Zeruel I really hated, usually "pressing this button in half a second" is something that discouraged me in this game. Just as most of the time battles are tied to the original story script limiting the EVA's movements, perhaps if there were more freedom for actions and different combat variables and in the story itself, some RPG concepts, as it was with NGE2, would have been more interesting.
