I don't have Netflix, but this release might sway me, I'm especially curious how the image quality is compared to the BDs and how the new dub will turn out.
What time do they usually drop their shows? Is it one point of time world wide or is it something like 5 p.m. for each respective time zone?

Perhaps Netflix is trying to market this to a more "general" anime audience, and this could presumably bring in that audience over to our humble forums. So much confusion.

Don't kniw if this always applies, but the pattern I've observed is regional releases come out midnight, global releases at a certain hour.
Would prefer midnight. We'll see..

Ryuko: "I'm gonna knock ya on your asses!"

I can't find the page for The End of Evangelion on my TV's Netflix app. :um:

Accurate
I mean, predictability is the central attraction and the narrative hook that we've all come to expect from the Evangelion franchise. How come Anno can't realize this? Twice? - FreakyFilmFan4ever

Either these two are in the dub after all, or they're throwing a pity party.

Former is doubtful, otherwise they would've said something much sooner.

I kinda feel like it'll just be an excuse for them to have a go at/shit on the new VAs tbh. I really hope I'm wrong and they actually are just there to chat and tell stories about when they worked on it, but I imagine it'll probably just be them and their fans mocking the new people.

The answer is definitely not the former and likely "neither," by the way. They're allowed to poke fun or critique new performances of roles they previously had for a long time.

...watch Evangelion with the original Rei and Shinj...

Er, they're not the original Rei and Shinji. Megumi Hayashibara and Megumi Ogata were.

This'll end well.

Spike, if you read this, do not do what Amanda does ok? You're way too good to actively shit on people.

Do what you want Amanda. I guarantee you, you won't even have fans or any roles to do when you're done. (Sorry, my bias against her is showing.)

At least they're doing something good like raising money for charity right?

Off-topic: Anyone think Spike Spencer would make a great Starscream?

While there's nothing inherently wrong with critiquing a performance, something just rubs me the wrong way about her tone.

We're only a few hours from when it officially drops, so I guess we'll know soon enough about the whole English Dub situation.

I think I'll probably watch the dub version of DEATH (TRUE)2 first, since that'll probably be the best way to get a sampling of the new voice cast.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

And so we arrive at demagogy. - Hideaki Anno, 1996

Your logic, Sir, is flawless...

Joke aside... Is there going to be a thread were people can share their (hopefully unbiased) opinion on their country's language dub?
I know many will watch it in English (myself included) and compare it with ADV's and Manga's...
But I think comparisons for the Latin Spanish, Spanish Spanish, French, Italian, etc, would be relevant... Just saying

Last comment on the dub.

Spike, Amanda, Tiffany amongst others and the fans need to remember, they (original English cast) can't play the characters forever. Should they have been contacted earlier? Should they have contacted Netflix earlier? I don't know, but at the very least, people should go in with an open mind with this new dub. If it's good, fantastic. If not, you could source the OG English dub from somewhere.

I only hope people aren't willing to crap on people involved in the new dub, veterans should be better than that.

Disgusting. Fuck em.

While it is disappointing, rather than a knee jerk "fuck them" attitude, you really ought to take a step back, and understand that most people just don't know or understand this fact. At times like this, I like to politely reach out to the writer via social media, and offer a suggestion for correction. Sometimes they do, and sometimes they don't. In either case, it's a good opportunity to build in-roads with other people in the greater sphere of discussion.

Not to mention, such a negative reaction from a community leader reflects poorly on the community itself.

Well, before I got to editing our wiki (today) I spent a few months intermittently editing the Fandom Wiki and its many, many glaring mistakes, plus Wikipedia. In some cases, I noticed some sections were just pasted from entire EG Wiki articles, the same sections that, coincidentally, I had edited and expanded myself recently, as they had some nonsense injected into them - and usually the original EG Wiki articles were rather small themselves, so I just re-pasted the content back into our wiki.

Anything people want to think about me, they will. I've learned that the long and hard way. I no longer consider myself a "community leader" in any capacity. The version of the Internet where that was even possible no longer exists and there's no use holding onto expired memories.

I do not exist on social media in any meaningful capacity, and my past experiences there ensure I probably never will.

The less said in addition to all this, the better, but I'm sure you can read between the lines a little.
