well since we are all pretty sure that there isn't going to be a re-release of eoe, has anyone checked this dts Japanese release out? unfortunately, I'm thinking about shelling out $80 for it. does anyone know if it has any of the bonus special features (live action seg.)? on yesasia.com it is listed as a boxset... this is the cdjapan source -

by the way the platinum extras blow but i guess it's worth it for the 5.1 sound and director's cuts. and whats with this crappy commentary - not even on the DC eps. ADV is starting to piss me off. Ah well

ok so the final platinum disk has arrived... well, it has a commentary with retard greenfield and retard mccoy which i have neglected to listen to considering the people and previous convos. maybe it'll spill something about the live action movie(s) like it did earlier [to a minor extent]. it is on ep. 26. that is basically the disk.
the d.c. of ep. 24 is not at par with what it should be. the sound didn't work for me - you could barely hear ode to joy over the characters voices! what the hell, way to quiet. ok so even the preview for the next ep. is for eoe's Air. i mean come on - the booklets talked about eoe to a descent extent as well. there HAS to be an eoe re-release right!?
those goddamn morons better fkn release it as a boxset or something. even the Japanese version was re-released AFTER renewal of eva. in DTS box set format! ah god it's hopeless - it'll never come, and if it does - it'll suck (even though all they have to do is copy the Japanese version and spruse up the sound a bit - simple).

Oh, everyone who has the 7th vol. of Eva Plat. pull it out now, if you don't already. Ok now go to episode 26 (ie. the last one) and play it. Now on your DVD remote, or whatever change the audio (not through the dvd menus) till you don't hear nothing (there are two stereo chanels, one's the comentary and the other's the one your looking for). OK, now if you got all that, go to the end credits (pretty sure it's chaper stop 5), and listen very carefully.

I'm so happy that ADV did this, they finally added an Extra that's enjoyable...I would say good job, but it is to little to late....so OK job, ADV....

Yeah, I noticed the fourth sound option too. I guess it plays as a nice, funny easter egg but does not help the platinum set. They always mention the movies yet there is no damn re-release!!!
The only time in the series that the word "FUCK" is mentioned.
I want the origional credits too. What's up with the credits rising, cut half way up the screen. Any known reason for this out there?
One last thing - it bothers me that the print on the slip cover scratches off like a lottery card... :x
