Is there any chance that there's going to be an international release? As much as I'd love to import it from Japan I A)Can't afford the prices Japan put on anime, and B)Only just started learning Japanese a few months ago, and I'm not even close to mildly fluent. We will know when we know. That's not supposed to be a clever-dick answer, just that's how it is. There's been a hint that Funimation are interested in looking into releasing this, but nothing more definite than that.
Occasionally Japanese releases have English subs; but we've been given no indication of that in this case, and I'm presuming it will not happen.

Whatever ADV is up to I doubt it's gonna be getting the rights to NGE on Blu-ray. Funimation has this locked down & will outbid whoever. Plus since Khara is so closely working with them on subs for 3.33 I'm positive at least a few conversations have been had about NGE.
I'll be looking forward to the special features loaded "Evangelion Franchise Super Boxset" on the show's 25th anniversary in 2020 that'll include all versions of Neon Genesis Evangelion, Death, End of Evangelion, 1,0, 2.0, 3.0, all Animator Expo shorts & 3.0 + 1.0 on Blu-ray.
