A short while ago I finally finished Grendizer. It was a good ending, the Vega Empire got completely crushed, the final fight was nice (three fights in one ep!), and everything pretty much ends on a happy note. The only real downside was that Gragra's fight ended a little too soon and was somewhat disappointing. Still though, it was a very good series and hopefully one day it'll make it's way to the US. Seriously, I hope it does, Italian dubs on Go Nagai shows are bleh.

Next series I'm going after is Daimos and I've got to try and find eps 2 and 3 of MS Igloo: The Gravity Front. I also never got around to seeing the Fafner OVA, maybe I could do that some time this week.

Finished Gurren Lagann. It was quite an over the top, awesome ride and I loved every minute of it.

I just started Noein.

Started watching WORKING!! and got his fair dose of WAN WAN.

Poplar is a goddess.

Also, kept on with watching Arakawa Under the Bridge for solopsistic lulz.

Sooo...Anyone else watching "B gata H kei" but feels bad admitting it?

Actually pretty funny, sort of like a harem anime from the perspective of one of the girls. And the "harem" is made up of one girl.

I think they can't really explain why she would want 100 casual sex partners, because from what I gather she thinks she should get "at it" already since her little sister (shes like 12 or 13 I think) is a nympho and she thinks its normal. But the 12 year old nympho part is only in the manga, so there isn't a real explanation I guess.

Anyway it was nice seeing this after getting thoroughly disappointed by Clannad.

I’ve seen the first two episodes but it looks like the typical new-school comedy fare, so I’m not planning on continuing. Not bad, I guess, but that’s not really saying much… it needed more people running away from explosions

gahhh speaking of that I need to finish Utena, too. Since completing 20CB, Urasawa's launched me into a monstrous comic binge, so I’ve been reading too many comics lately and neglecting mah animus :(

not to mention real life hasn't yet let me get around to the three unseen series still on my shelf.

I grabbed several pilots over PSN and out of all of them (somewhat to my amazement/consequent to several disappointments) the show I'm really digging is Bamboo Blade. It's great at being what I need right now: shallow fuzzy light comic entertainment.

I thought Bamboo Blade was a fun show. It reminds me a lot of Kenichi except it's all girls and it's kendo.

So we've got wars, pestilence, earthquakes, volcanoes and now P-Dude watching something subbed? I guess that completes all the signs of the apocalypse. ^_^

Thoughts? I adore Code Geass, particularly R2. It's delightfully OTT.

I've seen shows subbed before....
Because there wasn't a dub available?

No. I've seen anime subbed that did have an english dub version available and some dubs have made me cringe.

started Kawamori's Aquarion today, finally. Watched the first episode and a half, but I fell asleep while the DVD was playing cuz real life. I'll rewatch what I missed tomorrow.

First episode was weird, though. I was able to follow it well enough, but it was so funky in its writing that I'm not sure if I'm supposed to take it seriously. I'm hoping it improves, and with Kawamori's & Kanno's names attached to it, I'm sure it will.

Oh hell yes, one of the god tier staples of 90's animu. Art direction, writing, directing, character development, soundtrack, animation quality, fuck yea you won't be disappointed

I've finally just seen the first episode of Magic Knight Rayearth (Hulu recently added it) and... DAMN. I've long said that the theme song to this show is by far one of my favorite theme songs ever; let it never be mistaken for my feelings about the show. I know I've only seen one episode, but if this train wreck at any point becomes anything but, that's got to be one hell of a recovery.

Twenty minutes ago I finished Super Dimension Fortress Macross. It was a good series, but it had a series problem with suspense, the episodes are NOTHING of what they're like in the previews! That and the final battle was disappointing, it only lasted what five minutes? Eh, it was still good overall although it might have been better if it shrank a few episodes, but that's just me.
