The ending (of season 2) is usually what makes or breaks (mostly breaks) the show for people. And there's not much seriousness until the end, which I'm sure you can imagine, since you're reminded of it at the end of every episode.

Madoka is the Evangelion of anime. Although I do wonder how popular Madoka will be 10 years from now. It looks like it will be one of those "classic" series in the future.

Right now I just watched Mononoke. Medicine Seller best girl.

Evangelion, Sailor Moon, and Madoka are my top three favorite anime series. :D They're all classics. Also, I'm now thinking about checking out Revolutionary Girl Utena or Mawaru Penguindrum. I'm on break, so I might as well watch some shorter series.

Just finished the MSG film trilogy, shit was pretty good but man, the last hr of Encounters in Space was sugoi sugoi, I can't wait to see it all in The Origin adaption next year (hopefully).
Anyways, I'd say Film 1 and 2 were a good 7 while film 3 was a solid 8.

Thinking of giving Princess Tutu a shot, I'm on Winter break, so I might as well watch some anime.

Last 10 minutes of the 3rd film are so good.

I don't know if you should watch the sequel: Madoka rebellion film...

For some, it's an awesome addition to Madoka franchise, and to others it's pointless cash grab that has ruined the whole series.

Uhh, the Medicine Seller's a guy (I think).

Looking at the Madoka Magica wiki and such they do seem to analyse the anime in a manner very similar to what we've done at EGF...although they seem to be doing it at a much faster rate. Of course their interpretations might change just as ours have over time, of course. Madoka Magica will probably be regarded as a classic series in the future, as Evangelion is (the two are often compared). The only difference is that Madoka Magica seems to have run through its menagerie of spin-offs, manga adaptations and film series even faster than Eva did.

SPOILER: Show
Also, about the sequel Madoka Magica movie, it's on OK movie on its own merit but you probably won't like the plot unless you really want a second season of the show. Great visuals and music though.

And don't let C.A.P. tell you otherwise :P

By the way, i'm not sure if i would go so far as to call Madoka a classic, at least not at the height of NGE or Yamato. But maybe that's just me.

Yeah Maeda clearly doesn't have much idea what sort of training is required for the job.

Saying Bebop has "stand-alone episodes" isn't quite correct because that implies it has continuous plot. It doesn't have one, really.

Well there isn't really that much stuff to analyze in Madoka in comparison. Mostly it comes to breaking down wacky visual symbolism et al. InuCurry put in Witch designs.

After a lot of flip-flopping and a 4th rewatch I've decided Epilogue is indeed my favorite KnK. This is a big deal.

Finished episode 75 of Space Brothers.

SPOILER: Show
God dammit, is Mutta ever going to get the girl, or is Serika just that dense? For god's sake, it's been 70 episodes. He even draws a heart in the sky. WTF.

Also, why does Sharon have to have Lou Gehrig's Disease? That's just cruel.

Oh, you'd be surprised. If you read through wiki.puella-magi.net you can find all kinds of speculation from anything from religious undertones, yuri themes, detailed character analysis and even BD/on-air comparisons. Actually the Witch pages are quite bare in comparison to, say, the Rebellion Story spoiler speculation page.

Watched Puella Magi Madoka Magica Rebellion tonight it was pure awesomeness. Reminded me of the End of Evangelion in a way with everything that went on in that movie.
