Colour Coding?

"Nigel" is clearly associated with the top left circle and not just one color...but the rainbow.
"Vlad" is definetly associated with the blue bottle that Skyy vodka comes in and the bottom circle as he falls down drunk a lot.

Like others have said, the glasses could just be in an artistic form. But then again it does raise curiosity as to way that LCL looking color, orange.

Orange tinted glasses aren't too uncommon, but the possible relation to ATFs is interesting.

Does anyone have a screencap of Gendo before being chomped by Yui/Shinji/whatever? If I remember correctly, his glasses in the frontal shot of him lying down were a sort of light blue-grey. *too lazy to dig through EoE and check* Maybe that's supposed to mean something? Or was it just the lighting?

I'm really not sure if the color of the glasses mean anything, but the glasses themselves obviously ARE significant. So, if we are to figure that they are significant in the series and to Gendo/Rei, I don't think it's such a stretch to think that there's some symbolism behind the color.

Dark Purple (Shinji): evokes gloom and sad feelings. It can cause frustration.

Why is Shinji purple now? I thought pruple was Yui's colour.

SEELE08 survived the great "Revelations" Blizzard of 05/06, but was never really the same afterwards. Neither were most of us in fact.

Oh god those hit at around about the same time I started reading up on NGE, I had no idea wtf was going on but I was sure there was some deep meaning in there. Which was a comfort.

Maybe the light blue-grey was his ATF trying to fade away while Yui was breaking him down.

I don't think so, because after he's dead, they're back to being orange. If it was a symbol of his AT field, then they wouldn't be this color any more. Hence, end of fanwankery. I wish...
