That, and she allegedly saw Shinji clean his personal internet in front of her.
He was warrior and mystic, ogre and saint, the fox and the innocent, chivalrous, ruthless, less than a god, more than a man. There is no measuring Muad'Dib's motives by ordinary standards. In the moment of his triumph, he saw the death prepared for him, yet he accepted the treachery. Can you say he did this out of a sense of justice? Whose justice, then? Remember, we speak now of the Muad'Dib who ordered battle drums made from his enemies' skins, the Muad'Dib who denied the conventions of his ducal past with a wave of the hand, saying merely: "I am the Kwisatz Haderach. That is reason enough."

Though apparently (can't remember if it was this theard or What Now?) Asuka didn't mind he did that. (*cough* "I'll stand here and watch you"). What Asuka was upset at Shinji about was his acting weak and sobbing at the film's end; him acting that way disgusted her.

No; he is a /b/tard.

No real hidden meanings.

Problem is, we don't know that for sure.

I know what a /b/tard is and it's obvious that he is one, but the Jews Did WTC thing leads me to believe he's also a part of the GNAA.

I'm not a member of the GNAA, but I've entertained the idea of applying for membership for a while, however, since the GNAA have been rather idle recently in their trolling, I haven't had enough interest to do all of the shit you need to do to join the GNAA.

I, however, respect their work in filling the internet with more lulz, also, Jew did WTC has become a somewhat widespread meme outside of it's GNAA roots.

Back on topic! Anno wanted to be an ambiguous bastard and make us use our brains instead of spoon feeding us. The perfect final line would have been: Ugh, someone get me a barf bag!

The line was supposed to be

I'LL NEVER LET SOMEBODY LIKE YOU KILL ME

but Miyamura fucked it all up.

And speaking of "fucked", did you know that the brief "sex scene" between Asuka and Shinji isn't depicted in the storyboards? Rather more boring shots of Asuka pointing her finger and shouting, and Shinji hanging his head to the side in that Shinji sort of way, are there instead.

QFT! Years of pointless debate over something where Anno left us all the clues we needed to figure it out. Thanks Miyamura <sarcasm>! All those fools that wanted to be spoon fed and latched onto something soooo contradicted by the movie. Trying to connect the two is a laughable concept!

Whoa, dude, cut it out. I'm getting borderline Zuggy vibes.

Same person, no doubt -- see their split mind trying to suppress any easy sharing of information; these are the same people who are involved in book burnings, past and present.

Plus! alchemist9 wanted to chat, so I expounded more on the previous post in accordance with his/her will to post about them. That invalidates 'no one cares', then it completey loses it: "four-corner multidimensional overunity Mothman conspiracy at Bohemian Grove blah blah Montauk blah blah Kaballah blah blah UFO blah blah blah". Try again, schizo.

Uhhhhh... Nevermind.

I just need sleep.

I was just kidding. But perhaps you'd better explain what you meant in your post? It didn't make much sense to me. (...Zuggy's "!?!#%#^#$" rants are funny, aren't they?)

Also, my comment about Miyamura "fucking things up" wasn't entirely seriously. A work is always susceptible to change -- EoE went through a number of them on the way from storyboard to screen -- and Anno didn't have to go with "Kimochi warui". But he did.

Reichu wrote:But perhaps you'd better explain what you meant in your post?

Ok what I was saying is people who jump to things without any evidence backing them up in the show because it's easier than using their brains are fools! Fuzzy and Zuggy jump out as prime examples. Fuzzy's Rei never died, she's 14 years old, and she's not realated to Shinji kicks. Zuggy ugh I don't even wanna repeat that madness. Similarly anyone who clings to that interview as an end all answer, without looking for alternatives, fits the bill. Not to the same level as the former 2 though.

Before this goes somewhere bad I didn't intend it to go. I don't think anyone here fits this discription. By being here it indicates you are looking for alternatives. It's mainly shallow trolls that pull this crap.

Reichu wrote:Also, my comment about Miyamura "fucking things up" wasn't entirely seriously.

Didn't she like refuse to record the "I'LL NEVER LET SOMEBODY LIKE YOU KILL ME" line?

Enough of my dumbassery. Good Lord, I've been on the internet so long I've been starting to use stupid slang, such as l33t and 4-chan(??) speak. O_o Anyway, it sucks how they didn't, uh, show that. I mean, if they could get away with Misato's legs moving about as well as Shinji's "batter", you'd think they could show that. :?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_End_of_Evangelion#The_Final_Scene wrote:The closing line, "気持ち悪い。" ("Kimochi warui."), spoken by Asuka, likewise can be interpreted in a number of ways. It was translated on the Manga DVD as "How disgusting", but it can also be translated as "I feel unwell", "What a disgusting feeling", "Feels bad", "I feel sick", etc. This has caused much confusion among Western fans, though the true meaning of the line is undefined for the Japanese as well. A recent episode of a Japanese show dedicated to animation described this final line and its original meaning. Initially the final line was written as, "I'll never let you kill me," but Anno was dissatisfied with this. In the episode Asuka's seiyuu, Yuko Miyamura, described what Anno told her he was going for with this scene:

Concerning the final line we adopted, I'm not sure whether I should say about it in fact. At last Anno asked me "Miyamura, just imagine you are sleeping in your bed and a stranger sneaks into your room. He can rape you anytime as you are asleep but he doesn't. Instead, he masturbates looking at you, when you wake up and know what he did to you. What do you think you would say?" I had been thinking he was a strange man, but at that moment I felt disgusting. So I told him that I thought "Disgusting". And then he sighed and said, "I thought as much." (1)

That contradicts what Asuka says earlier ("I'll stand here and watch you"), WTF?! GAH!!! >_< Upon reflecting on it, it does seem to be her disgust at his sobbing (though it's not like she pushes him away, just says that after touching his cheek, which is curious.) as well as having just been Tang and their surroundings! (Gomen! Am I repeating myself??)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_End_of_Evangelion#The_Final_Scene wrote:However, Tiffany Grant, Asuka's English dub voice actor, says this:

The most widely circulated translation of the last line of EoE is "I feel sick", but Amanda Winn Lee (voice of Rei Ayanami, who also directed EoE) said she asked several translators, and she felt "disgusting" was the most accurate adaptation. You could say she is disgusted with/sick of the situation or with Shinji himself. My favorite explanation though, is this one: My husband, Matt Greenfield, directed the TV series and is very familiar with the whole Eva franchise. Matt has said that although (Eva creator) Hideaki Anno seems to change his mind frequently about what various things mean in Eva, Anno once said that Asuka's comment about feeling "sick" was a reference to morning sickness. Now THAT gives ya something to think about, doesn't it! Of course, Anno is quite passionate about the idea that every person should decide for him or herself what Eva means to them.

....Tiffany Grant's full of shist. (Or rather, AWL is! ...Direct, my ass. ) I think you said so yourself, Reichu, that Anno was joking when saying that, if he said that? Or wasn't that said by that Eva "know-it-all" on that Platinum Mythology of Eva thing?

In instances of contradiction stick with the series.

Honestly that makes Anno sound fed up and desperate, not that he was describing what he was going for. The beauty of "Kimochi warui" is you can do just about anything with it. Especially in NGE.

I always thought he was figuratively destroying NERV HQ because of his feelings of abandonment as a sort of allegory for how he was about to destroy the world.
