Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

And so we arrive at demagogy. - Hideaki Anno, 1996

I too find it hard to believe you are a 14 year old girl with this kind of taste in video games.

Street Fighter is very broken and it's full of nothing but shoto clones, I like SNK fighters because they're more creative than Capcom and they put way more effort in developing them, but my favorite one is Alpha 2 rather than others.

I'm no enthusiast of fighting games, but the ones I know love KoF.

Nope, I just use often my PSX or Xbox 360 USB controller to play games. I used to have a Fight Pad but it broke very easily, besides, I have no problems with controllers.

And in what manner exactly is street fighter broken? You fail to provide adequate reasons.

Of course, balance is a difficult matter to fix, especially before the current console era where a patch meant an entire new game release. Nevertheless, at a competitive level fighting games often boil down to knowledge and "yomi", and not just character strength- Look at Kuroda for example, who plays Q, a widely recognized low tier character, but still manages to win tournaments.

Or an even better example, Xian winning evo 2013 with Gen. Gen, yes thats right. The character everyone though wasn't worth the time and was trash. It just goes to show tier lists mean nothing.

However SNK makes better fighting games, and Iori Yagami is better than K Dash.
I don't like the fact that you can do all those damn juggle combos with Yun and Urien, sure they require skill, but it's too unbalanced.

I have SFIV and i don't personally think it's broken game. Controls are pretty good, but not the best. IMO.

Kata-chan is right about the fact that there are too many clone characters, and possibly not enough variation when it comes to movesets.

Well, i haven't played it THAT much, so feel free to prove me wrong.

Stay rekt.

If Street Fighter was 'broken' it wouldn't be allowed near a fighting game tournament.

Play it more and you'll just throw the game away for its brokenness.
There are too many shoto clones as I said, SF is all about Hadouken, Shoryuken and Tatsumaki.
About Alpha 3 V-ism bitches, I recorded long time ago this typical irritating V-Ism player.
I'm not even defending KoF too much because even it features BS like this. Especially in '97.

Too many shotoclones? There are 6. In a cast with more than 30 characters.
Thats still more than most fighting games sans tekken tag 2 and MvC2, which by the way, also has clone characters (Forest law, marshal law, bone and adamantium wolverine, etc...)

Even so, these "shotoclones" very significantly when it comes to their normals, and even their special moves, which though are shared, contain different properties. You can't get away with playing a Ken like Ryu and vise versa. Different links, different combos, different set ups.

KoF also has clones. The very same shoto clones. What are Ryo, Robert, Takuma, and Mr. Karate? You can argue Kyo is one as well. He has a tatsu (lunge kick), an uppercut, and a projectile.

This thread is getting REALLY de-railed so this will be my last post. I'm just trying to point out that these are poor reasons for disliking the game. It has a high execution barrier compared to most others, which turns off a lot of players, but it is still...the cornerstone of fighting games as a genre. If you would throw it away for its brokenness then it wouldn't be one of the best selling fighting game titles currently.

Takuma/Mr. Karate doesn't have any uppercut, also if you're talking about KoF '96/NESTS Saga Kyo, he's not a clone, if you're talking about the classic one, then he has fireballs and uppercuts but his two kick moves aren't like Tatsumaki. Also, SNK has Shingo Yabuki which is a "fail" version of Kyo but it is often used and it's a very good character. SF is just overhyped as hell because of it's brokenness, and because it was one of the very first decent 2D fighting games. KoF has a harder and deeper gameplay than most SF games. Talking about Tekken, you have 59 characters and you use only 10 of them and it's also full of clones, but it's a damn Tag game after all, and you can always mash buttons to win on Tekken, which is what most people do online, also the fucking problem with the corner, man, it's annoying.
The more the game is broken, the more people will buy it. VF is the most balanced fighting game that I've found so far, heck yeah, it's slow but at least you can't mash buttons to win and you need skills to play it, and yet it isn't popular as much as Tekken, at least between Western players.

BTW we should make a thread about this instead of derailing this one.
