It was fucking brilliant though. If you're like me and didn't understand much of the plot, read that guide for a superb explanation. It's really what made me move it into the "genius" category as the makers truly crafted a superb, complex story that they had to only drop hints at because of the ratings board.

Yo, we're livin' in a great age of videogames now, there's no reason to be bitching about the quality of anything right now. Obviously, the biggest issue with the 360 and PS3 is price, but they're high-end electronics; they're going to last you five years at least. The price/longevity ratio is comparable to a PC's.

My roommate has a 360, and it has a ton of amazing games. The one that stands out most in my mind is Dead Rising; that's just my type of game. I never played Gears of War, and never wanted to play it; I hate multiplayer Halo, but there's still some fire coming out for the 360.(Bioshock, for me at least.)

I, myself, bought a PS3(I admit entirely that it was an impulse buy, and that I had decided not to buy one so soon, since the first shipments of consoles are by far more likely to have bugs). Resistance is a great game, so is NBA 07, but yeah, it had a shitty launch lineup, and it doesn't have a lot of games for it, but it's more than a tad bit unfair to compare the PS3 games that came out a few months ago to 360 games that came out a few months ago.(Or does anyone think Perfect Dark Zero is a great game?) MGS4 is going to be the game for me, but there's also Lair, and the countless other titles that they'll have sequels to. The PS3 should have a bright future.

I don't know anything about the Wii, and don't care. I hate PC Gaming.

the biggest thing is that a brand new PC is no longer top of the line by the next week whilst a console lasts a LONG time

You're kidding... right? I've had to send my 360 in for repairs TWICE this year alone (once for a bad graphics board and again for an unknown hardware failure). I've had my Gamecube for 5 years now by comparison and had never had any problems with it. Knock Nintendo all you want, but they know how to make a system last.

Now don't get me wrong.

The 360 is fun!

It has some great games!

It's just a fragile piece of shit.

EDIT: I just cleaned up some grammar because I'm not smart and cannot type good words.

Hey, my roommate got his 360 one month after launch, he plays it close to every day, and he's never had a problem with it.(Well, aside from backwards compatibility, but that's a whole 'nother issue altogether.) And yeah, my Gamecube has lasted that long as well, but that's only because I don't play it as much because it's produced something like 10 good titles throughout its entire existence.

If this were the mid 90's you might have a point.

I own 5 PS2s, because they keep breaking. For the price of a PS3, I'm not taking the chance.

I still think computer gaming is better. Halo2 of the Original Xbox was the only exception until the Xbox mod chips were released... then it just went downhill from there.

Yeah, I wore my original PS2 out in about three years and replaced it with one of those new slim versions. At this point, it's only a CD/DVD player. And I'm hoping to turn my old Xbox into a Linux machine soon so it can stop collecting dust. (Cue old man voice  ) In my day (less than a decade ago actually  ) I was a major fanatic of the old N64 and I hated the original Playstation. I thought the Playstation was such a piece of crap with its absurd load times and the lack of some kick-ass titles like Goldeneye, Zelda and Doom 64. Sure the PS had Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid and Tomb Raider. But the PC and (way back when) the arcade was the place for those games. Fortunately, technology caught up with the consoles. Unfortunately, the games seem to have been in a holding pattern for the past two or three years. :(

If you've played Metal Gear Solid 2, read this. You'll be blown away by the sheer genius of Kojima-san.

He was warrior and mystic, ogre and saint, the fox and the innocent, chivalrous, ruthless, less than a god, more than a man. There is no measuring Muad'Dib's motives by ordinary standards. In the moment of his triumph, he saw the death prepared for him, yet he accepted the treachery. Can you say he did this out of a sense of justice? Whose justice, then? Remember, we speak now of the Muad'Dib who ordered battle drums made from his enemies' skins, the Muad'Dib who denied the conventions of his ducal past with a wave of the hand, saying merely: "I am the Kwisatz Haderach. That is reason enough."

The DS is where it's at for gaming in this day and age.

Gaming seems to have gotten expensive nowadays. *sigh*

I probably feel poorer because of the money sucking leech known as college. Anywho, the DS is a pretty cool piece of equipment though the only game I would definitely get for it would be Castlevania games.

So right now I only have my PS2 which, surprisingly, I have had no problems with since I got it a month after the PS2 launched. This shocked a lot of my friends because some of them went through 2 or more PS2s and I don't even take good care of mine.

I'll check it out, thanks. I think there's a lot more genius going on behind the scenes of these games than many people give them credit for.
