E3 2014 - predictions/announcements

With the Electronic Entertainment Expo on the horizon, I find myself attempting to predict what this year holds for us. I think it's an interesting topic to discuss our wants and predictions for the show. Here is my list of wants and expectations:

Expect to see:

-More Sony first party games revealed for the ps4
-A new trailer for the Order
-Maybe a ps4 and vita bundle
-A halo 5 trailer or teaser
-The new AC trailer from Ubisoft
-New FF XV trailer
-Wii U price cut
-Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire trailer
-A new Zelda Wii U trailer

Wish to see:

-FF XV release date
-P5 trailer
-The new Mass Effect game unveiling
-A PS4 price cut back to $400 in Canada (I'm butthurt how Sony raised to price of the PS4 here....)
-GTA 5 port for next gen
-New Uncharted trailer (heh, keep dreaming, the studio is a mess now)
-A demo for the new Zelda Dynasty Warriors game
-Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem trailer
-X trailer and release date (maybe a proper official title)
-Xenoblade Chronicles port to Wii U
-Dead Space 4 announcement
-A new Kid Icarus 3DS game
-Demo of the new Super Smash Bro's
-Tales of Vesperia ps3 in the West (I wanna play it badly and can't since I dont got a 360)

Sony will do absolutely nothing for the PSVita.

Also, aren't they doing a "Try Out the new Smash Bros at Best Buy" thing during E3? Not really a demo, but still.

What will happen: Doritos and Mountain Dew (Sorry, Mtn Dew, becuz pore litterasee is kewl!!), dudebro games, mostly boring garbage.

What I really want is some Metroid news. Nintendo's left the whole franchise in stasis for four years since Other M's epic fail; it's about time they did something to redeem Samus as a character and save her from being the butt of a significant number of negative characterisation discussions.

Failing that, I'd like to see more of Alien Isolation, Zelda Wii U, Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire and maybe the Borderlands pre-sequel.

What I really want is some Metroid news. Nintendo's left the whole franchise in stasis for four years since Other M's epic fail; it's about time they did something to redeem Samus as a character and save her from being the butt of a significant number of negative characterisation discussions.

are the people who act like metroid is dead now because of other m forgetting the fact that there was no metroid games at all between 1994 and 2002?

and with nintendo's struggles with the wii u, i doubt we'll see any b-tier franchises like metroid being made for a while. cause as popular as metroid is with the "hardcore", it's not that good a seller. hell, i think the FIRST brain age game on ds has outsold the entire metroid franchise.

I'd like to see a reason to buy a PS4. Like a game that I want to play that much I'm going to buy a console.

I don't want to see a reason to buy a PS4. I want exactly the opposite: for anything worthwhile that comes out on those consoles to come out on a machine I already own which gives me free multiplayer, more horsepower, and is backwards compatible with the world's largest gaming library, including that of many consoles, including the predecessors of today's consoles that they themselves are not even backwards compatible with.

What i want to see:

-Project Beast is Demons Souls 2 for PS4
-Persona 5
-Final Fantasy XV new trailer
-Final Fantasy Type-0+Agito HD for PS3/PS4/PSV
-Final Fantasy X-3
-Resident Evil 7
-More Japanese games
-Sony reviving old PSX franchises.
-PSVITA TV announcement for the west.

I expect to see the reveal of Zelda U, Smash Bros demo with the announcement of the last third-party character to join the fray (my guess is Pacman, Irwin, some dude from Soul Calibur or Cloud Strife), the new title Naughty Dog has been working on, Halo 5, Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire remake, the reveal of the Metroid title we've been waiting for the Wii U and the project Retro Studios has been working on for the past year. I also expect to see new info on Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III, with maybe a demo of the former. A Wii U Mario Party is, sadly, a given. New demos of Destiny and the new CoD.

I hope to see the reveal of Star Fox U, the rumored Kirby 3D game for the Wii U, and the remake of Final Fantasy VI or VII (yep, I have great wishes that I know they won't be fulfilled this soon..).

It's hardly a 'B-List' franchise; it's one of Nintendo's Big Three franchises alongside Mario and Zelda. The influence of the series can still be seen today throughout 'Metroidvania' games. There's a reason why people still associate most backtracking 2D shooter games with Metroid. It's considered a classic on a level far above forgotten stuff like Brain Age, and probably sells better too.

Additionally, even during the hiatus between Super Metroid and Metroid Prime, fans were aware that Prime was in development in 2000, and Nintendo previously explained the lack of Metroid as being unable to come up with ideas. Now, however, they've released any news of Metroid at all, or any potential Metroid in development; they also missed out on Metroid's 25th anniversary (unlike Mario and Zelda which got anniversary compilations) and generally gone completely silent on the topic for the whole 4-year hiatus, even longer than the gap between Super and Prime.
