I getting one of these for my birthday next week.
I heard these are 10x better than the normal DS
Who here has a DS Lite?

Just about everything IS better - they're smaller, have brighter screens, are more shatter resistant, look sexier, and a dozen other things I don't remember. I want one rather badly, but have to scrounge up cash for some other stuff before I can get one (buying some television shows and anime before I get one, as I have WAY too many games already).
Currently: Working on some comics + Photoshopping some new avatars
dude these things sell like blue wigs at a cosplay convention. they're simply sold out in all of tokyo with the exception of European imports selling at double the MSRP.
I managed to get my hands on one after nine tries at a lucky draw from one of those capsule vending machines in Akihabara at 1000yen ($9) a go- won 5 tshirts and 3 stuffed dolls too. that was a good day.

I cannot for the life of me figure out why people don't like the original design of the DS. As if all handhelds suddenly have to be slick and slim and black and X-TREME looking.
Also, I'd take a DS over a PSP anyday, simply because on the DS the games aren't dogshit (only PSP game that was interesting was Liberty City Stories anyway).

The original DS is awkward for extended play. The added weight of the Top Screen panel necessitates what, depending on your sitting position, is an uncomfortable angle for your wrists to sustain. I mostly just use mine to play GBA titles since, by using only one screen, I can lower the top panel into that less-than-fully-open position for a much more pleasant experience.
