So, being inside an Eva would differ from being inside any other living organism how? It wouldn't - it's no different than the womb...and other, more intimate places *cough* we sometimes find ourselves in *cough* from time to time...

Um, yeah.

So, in that respect, I probably would climb up in one o' them units and have a crack at piloting. Realistically, though, probably not - although the massive egotrip is reason enough to consider it, I can't even drive a car without having a complete mental collapse. So, no, I guess I wouldn't get inside an Eva if given the chance :)

The Pros and Cons of riding in a Evangelion.

Cons:

1. LcL: Floods the cockpit, makes you feel like your drowning.
Makes you want to barf.(wether or not your a boy)
Smells like blood. (or the last person who was in it)

2. Angels: Expose you to pyschological damage you've never fely before!
You feel everything said angel does to Evas body.
Risk of death or permanent damage 99.6%

3. Eva's soul: Having your dead mother (or Shinjis') Come back to haunt
you.

4. Entry plug: Getting trapped inside Said plug. Slowly drowning in
gallons of Eva blood (see Con 1)
Plug ejection could damage your body.
Some chance of Eva becoming possessed and having your
former best friend crush the plug with you inside it.
Achiveing a 400% synch with Eva reducing your body to
primordial soup.

5. Plug suits: Those have got to be uncomfortable.
Not to mention embarrasing

6. Tests: Start up Test: high chance of Eva going berserk and
attacking everyone in the cage.
before a forced ejection of the entry plug (if your lucky)

Harmonics Test: Sitting in Evangelion for hours,
concentrating, hoping your score is high enough.
(sounds like school)

And of course, the Naked Harmonics Test!


Pros:

1. You get to pilot a Eva!



Looking at the facts, I'd have to say I'd try it!
Maybe just a live test, like in episode 3, so I can just feel like I'm saving the universe, without all the annoying drawbacks.

Come on! Who wouldn't want to pilot one just once!

Anyways, I'd still think that piloting for the benefit of the human race (or so that's what the pilots are told) would be enough motivation for me. That, and being able to rub it in the faces of all those Kensuke type fanboys.

Of course we'd not have the knowledge of that when we first got in there... and thinking your dead mother was in your Eva would sound a little loopy.

I'm quite sure that would be the only freak out factor for me.

Okay, in looking at it the way you guys are looking at it, this is rather short handed on the girl's point of view.

Judging by either of the female pilots, I'd;

A) Get stuck in an incredibly drab, disgusting appartment, in some rapists neighborhood.
or
B) Get stuck living with a heavy drinker, her pet bird, a shy little boy, and a really stubborn, crazy, girl.

In piloting, I'd have some curious little boy checking me out in a skin tight suit... and since the male plugsuits are designed a little differently, there is nothing that I would be able to appreciate...

So there would be no real compensation for my 'piloting efforts'.
Come to think of it, the girls probably would be the only perks of the job.

Of course I'm kidding around about that last part... mostly. And yes, I did just note most of the negatives for comparison purposes.

Frankly, I don't care about the cons. I get to pilot an eva! In the end thats what matters. And, of course, there's that whole saving the world part which would be pretty cool.

I could use the eva to release all of my inner strife and turmoil on the angels. I'd show them what a real berserk eva looks like. That'll show 'em not to come to earth and start fucking around!
