any and all pen-pen bathroom encounters. yeah, it's really stupid, but the ridiculousness of a penguin walking in/out of the bathroom never failed to make me crack up.

I believe it was from the "Asuka Strikes" episode. When Kaji learns that Shinji is sharing an apartment with Misato and in front of the entire group at the table asks him whether she's still so, "Wild in bed".
I don't know what it is about that scene or the way the line is delivered in the dub, but it just floors me every time. I guess there's probably several reasons
Up to that point in the series most of the teasing had been done by Misato with Shinji on the receiving end, so it was fun to see her blush for a change. Also, it was as if Kaji was introducing his character by choosing to say the most inappropriate thing that came to mind at the moment. He nonchalantly announces to everyone that he's previously had an intimate relationship with Misato whilst simultaneously suggesting that Shinji is doing the same.
Of course, the reactions of everyone at the table are pretty funny, as well. Now that I think about it, I've read more than a few posts where people accuse Shinji of being a prude, and yet (at least in this particular scene) he seems to be the only person there who got Kaji's joke and wasn't offended by the innuendo. If anything, it ends up being a great ice breaker/male bonding moment and Shinji seems to get along pretty well with Kaji from that point forward.

lol, thanks for reminding me of that. i had completely forgotten about that scene, but it's definitely one of my favorites (i especially like the fact that right after their biggest confrontation, Asuka and touji actually manage to agree on one thing: that was way too much information. mwahaha

It's one of my fave scenes too
The way Misato screams 'And just what are you implying by that!?' in the dub is hilarious, and I guess it explains why Misato declares him a 'chauvinistic pig' in the next episode. It's a good scene for the way Anno portrays gender roles as well.

In the manga version, Shinji payed Touji back for the punch by sticking his fingers up Touji's nose and making him dance like a monkey in front of his girl-classmates.
