Starshine, by Gorillaz. I'm not sure why, but it fits the tone of certain episodes.

I think someday someone should try to sync up The Wall and EoE like they did with Darkside of the Moon and Wizard of Oz :D

The Mother AMV was good, and a Wall/EoE sync would be glorious. However, it would never be as freaky as the Oz one, its preciseness was too unnerving.
Anyway, at topic (and speaking of Oz-related things): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Bre3HF8_Vw
In fact, most of this album reminds me of something Evangelion related, but this song stands out, for obvious reasons. Heck, it would fit awesomely in something like Final or EoE- it has that whole lone distressed character feel to it (if they choose that path for Final, that is).

Remember that song 'The Sun's Gone Dim' by Johnann Johannsson? It was used in the trailer for Battle: Los Angeles. I'm really surprised someone hasn't made an AMV to that, yet.

I would, but I have no talent for video editing.

When I first got into Evangelion I happened to have my phone on a wallflower song called, I am a building. And I'm not sure if it's because I really started liking this band around the same time as Eva or because of the religous symbolism in the music that made my mind connect the two together. It probably is a mixture of both.
The lyrics from I am a building that remind me most of Eva are:

Fire blazing On the overpass
Cattle grazing In fields of dead grass
Last summer was earthquake weather By November
This too should have passed
I am not moving I am landlocked
I am looking through
A thousand windows spread across A thousand floors
There in a landfill
Where Eden was before
But not anymore I am a building
Here without doors

For worse or better
I surrender
It may not matter
But I'm sadder than you'll ever know
I am your inferno
Here all in yellow
With embers blowing north
No sense in returning
I'm not worried anymore

Their are quite a few more by the wallflowers. some of the others are,

All things new again, how far you've come, Hand me down, I wish I felt nothing, and the passenger.

Came across this today on one of my Pandora stations, and it's just uncanny how perfectly Kaworu this song is.

Jem - Down to Earth

Friends I have to tell you
They sent me on a mission down to earth
To watch and to observe life
And gather information 'bout your birth

But what I mostly see is misery and it makes me sad

(chorus)
So capable of love yet too scared to open up
And just wanna be accepted but can't show that you care
Creating problems daily, no wonder some go crazy
So special and so gifted but most don't know it's there

Friends I have to ask you
Surrounded by the beauty of this place
Why do you make it so hard
For all the things you want to come your way?

Well, I don't think you see your destiny and it makes me sad

(...)

Do it, just let it all out
Express emotion, say how you're feeling
It's liberating, nothing can hurt you
You can be happy but you must believe it

Well, I don't think you see your destiny and it makes me sad

(...)

Won't you let me take you down to earth?

I don't know how you, but for me no song, causes as much "Eva sense tingling" as this one

Cynic - Adam's Murmur

Feet to hip
Nave to breast
Throat to brain
And skin arranged

Now we're one soul

Reviving memories
to every blade of grass, the universal path
a primal energy
a creation is born, unsympathetic chords

Hearing Adam's murmur
a Sanskrit alphabet
unholy apple tree
seven flowers

Feet to hip
Leaf to breast
Throat to brain
and skin arrange

holes in our trunks
I tap her to test
harmony within
a merciful creation

Hearing Adam's murmur
a Sanskrit alphabet
unholy apple tree
Seven flowers

Feet to hip
Leaf to breast
Throat to brain
and skin arrange

Feet to hip
Leaf to breast
blood to brain
and skin arrange

Now we're one soul
Another jaded man.

Oh wow, it's almost creepy how perfect it is, especially the [s]description of Shinji[/s] chorus.

I know this is horribly obvious and has probably been mentioned numerous times but I Melt With You by Modern English is perfect for EoE, too bad there haven't been any good AMV's for it.

"Shinji repeatedly rises to the occasion, overcomes his own doubts and fears and puts others ahead of himself to the point of self harm. The situation overwhelms him. Victory does not define a hero. I think that Devotchka- How it ends. Shinji is pretty scared all the time and has a basic idea of how he thinks his world will end.

Battle Born by Five Finger Death Punch makes me think of Shinji.

Pain by Three Days Grace seems to sum up Shinji and Asuka's relationship.

This sounds like some kind of creepy Eva/Angel recipe.

Some of Nine Inch Nails's stuff, such as Hurt and Lights in the Sky gives me an Evangelion feel.

That entire album in general reminds me a lot of Eva.

I don't know why tho.

Hard Times Come Again No More

Covered By Iron and Wine

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95itEHED8Hk

There's a pale drooping maiden who toils her life away,
With a worn heart whose better days are over:
Though her voice would be merry, it's sighing all the day,
Oh hard times come again no more.

This lyric in my opinion could be seen as a reference to Rei.

It's a sigh that is wafted across the troubled wave,
It's a wail that is heard upon the shore
It's a dirge that is murmured around the lowly grave
Oh hard times come again no more.

These lyrics would go well with the final scene of Asuka and Shinji on the shore.

Why has nobody made an Eva Amv with this song yet?

I had written this a while back, and listening more to the song I Wish I Felt Nothing, I think it fits in well With Shinji's life and also the EoE. So I thought I'd post the lyrics.

Say when you're alone
It's better 'cause nobody knows you
When no one's your friend
It's better 'cause nobody leaves you

So you've turned your back
On a world that you could never have
'Cause your heart's been cracked
And everyone else's is goin' mad

But I hear voices and I see colors
But I wish I felt nothing
Then it might be easy for me
Like it is for you

Now all of these people
Come up from deep holes pullin' you down
And it's just no use
When all the abuse follows you down

By the morning you've gone
Leavin' me here all alone
Sayin' it's no mystery
I know that nobody here needs me

But I hear voices and I see colors
But I wish I felt nothing
Then it might be easy for me
Like it is for you

And I know you believe
That you and me don't belong here
And the worst we could do
Is keep trying to pretend we care

But I hear voices and I see colors
But I wish I felt nothing
Then it might be easy for me
Like it is for you
Like it is for you
Like it is for you
It's Ok if you hate me, I hate me too.

Although it is generally well established that Pink Floyd runs well with NGE, Welcome to the Machine reflects NGE in both a literal and metaphorical way.

Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode

Reach out and touch faith

Your own personal Jesus
Someone to hear your prayers
Someone who cares
Your own personal Jesus
Someone to hear your prayers
Someone who's there

Feeling unknown
And you're all alone
Flesh and bone
By the telephone
Lift up the receiver
I'll make you a believer

Take second best
Put me to the test
Things on your chest
You need to confess
I will deliver
You know I'm a forgiver

Reach out and touch faith
Reach out and touch faith

Your own personal Jesus
Someone to hear your prayers
Someone who cares
Your own personal Jesus
Someone to hear your prayers
Someone who's there

Feeling unknown
And you're all alone
Flesh and bone
By the telephone
Lift up the receiver
I'll make you a believer
I will deliver
You know I'm a forgiver

Reach out and touch faith

Your own personal Jesus

Reach out and touch faith

Definitely makes me think of Kaworu and Shinji.
