When I get into Eva nothing can stop me, its like an ATField sets up so that nothing can come between me and Eva
I don't care for Eva-elitists. I don't know everything, and neither do you.

some of my friends hate eva because i mention it all the time.......
evangelion is by far the sole anime ruler for me, i cannot ask anything else from a TV show.

Nothing else has hooked me in the same way as Eva. .hack//sign did have me hooked for a while but thats because it was the first Anime I ever watched.

I dont think anything has really hooked me like Eva has, possibly Star Trek TNG amd The Wall. For some reason Eva just seems to be on a different level to everything else i've seen, and I don't really know why, its just there.

I like Evangelion, Azumanga Daioh, SGT Frog (manga), and Dr. Slump (manga).

Azumanga Daioh, and Evangelion are both my faves, even though they are like comparing a blade of grass to a whale.

QFE.

This is definatly true about me. Generally, I really dont discuss eva. Its just another anime I watch. But once someone brings it up, WHAM! I'm on a roll!

Evangelion is definately my favorite Anime series. When I was younger I was pretty into Dragon Ball Z, but I outgrew it. Since then, the only series that really captivated me the same as Eva was was Fullmetal Alchemist, but I don't obsess over it as much as I do for Evangelion (I don't go to message boards and blabber about it, or own any of the DVDs or Mangas for it yet).

There are other Animes that I like besides Evangelion and FMA, but I don't really go gaga over them as much. I don't consider myself an Otaku by any means. I'm crazy for Evangelion, I loved Fullmetal Alchemist and liked several other Anime series, but I don't really see Anime so much as a genre, just like I don't consider American animation to be it's own genre. It's a medium, and it can have good stuff and bad stuff just like anything else.

I was an anime-hater a long time, but a year and some month ago I watched NGE (it's a long long story why I suddenly watched THE anime) and after the first three episodes there was a 180° turn of my attitude towards animes. Ok, the crappy-dubbed heavily-cutted little-baby-animes that where broadcasted here in Germany are still unbearable. :x That's also the reason why most of the people here in Germany think that animes are little-baby-cartoons and don't have the more common prejudice that they are porn-cartoons.
Nevertheless, in this year and some months no other anime could replace NGE from it's first place of my own top-anime-list :D
Here is my current Top-5:
1a) shin seiki EVANGERION gekijô-ban DEATH(TRUE)/Air/magokoro.o, kimi.ni
1b) shin seiki EVANGERION
1c) shin seiki EVANGERION gekijô-ban SHITO shinsei
2) suzumiya HARUHI.no yûutsu
3) GURABITÊSHON
4) RABU hina
5) bokusatsu tenshi DOKURO-chan

I think about Evangelion as often as I think about sex and my girlfriend. I'm not quite as big of an Evangelion fanatic as many people on this site (believe me, to say I'm not as big of a fan may/may not be true, depends on how you look at it.) I've stopped comparing animes to Evangelion and in all honesty, it's the only one I really give a damn about... Hell, I don't compare with many things, now that I think about it.

I hate talking about it, though. I don't want to get into a conversation and find out that the person I am talking to knows more about the series than I do... It's a huge pride thing. I know I don't know 1/4th of what a number of people on this forum know about it, but I know more than many other people... So yeah... Don't like to talk about it, don't want to be embarassed or feel as if I have wasted all that time in my life. It's happened once, I thought I was one of, if not, the best Tetris Attack player in the US and maybe the world... Found out I wasn't even in the top ten ;_; It hit me hard and I was extremely depressed for about a week, since I don't pride myself on many things, the few things I do have pride in are really close to me. Yeah, don't want a repeat of that.

I've rambled on long enough, Evangelion is and probably will always be the best anime in my opinion... Currently, it's my favorite show.

Well, honestly, Evangelion is in a draw with Aquarion in me. Its like Alpha and Omega, NGE is the first part, Aquarion is the following one. And looking more closely at the name of the second (full: Holy Genesis Aquarion), and considering a couple of things (youngsters synch. with a plane, three of them makes a big-big ÃœberGott mecha, Angels (though this time Shadow Angels) piss off humanity, et cetera), one could dare say that its a clone. However, it is -Rei, to use soft words. It is all about emotions, and most of the people there are very-very extrovert. Geez, I've started watching it for the second time, and I'm all sweat, just like the first time I saw it. I have absolutely no idea of where you might get it or how old is it. All I know that its for free and its not on animegalleries.net. I didn't look around on google, but I don't think it'll be there.

Another thing: I've noticed a shocking symptom lately. I thought of watching NGE once again, this time with no jumps. The second run had a couple of jumps; I just couldn't stand watching. But this time, I felt an urge not to do so. For some reason, I just can't watch it from the begining to the end. Though I just love to watch EOE - again, for unknown reasons. I still love NGE, but I just can't watch it again... though if I would give an order to myself to do so I would watch it, but that is firstly not the same, secondly I would always have an urge to click on that little white "X" on the upper right corner...
??? :( ???

How is my fandom - well, it has quieted down over the last couple of years, the way that love does.

NGE was not quite the first anime I saw, and is far from the last; it isn't the only anime for which I've written fics, but it is the one I wrote because I had to, rather than wanted to. What hooked me was not only was it the best SF in a visual medium that I've ever seen (employing the medium to advantage to hint rather than belabour), but it also had a character I felt I could identify with in an anything-but-wish-fulfillment manner.

Heh, Kozo?

My fandom. I guess I'm pretty geeking out over it-I don't have any posters or other kind of decoration, but that's because I don't know where to get any. I'd basically kill to get a wallscroll of the three Pilots.

I guess it's not the first anime\videogame I've been really geeked over, and probably not the last, but I think I'll be staying here for a loooong time.

Asuka, actually. Identification with Kozo came more on later reflection.

For an NGE fan-geek I do have an unusual lack of merchandise - just DVDs.

Yes, I can see it. Asuka seems to have a slightly more common problem than Shinji and Rei.

Eva is probably the first animation that I came across with my full senses. If you mean comparing Eva with other animations I can tell you no other thing can compare with it, personally. I like Gundam before, but the passion had now all vanished. I quite regret using so much money buying models. But my passion for Eva is not just within the mecha. It's the ideas.

But if you mean comparing Eva with non-animation shows it's a bit harder to say. I like many CBS and Fox shows, theyr'e good, but it's just incomparable. You won't mix water and oil together. It's just different. It's incomparable.
If all the world hated you, and believed you wicked, while your own conscience approved you, and absolved you from guilt, you would not be without friends. -Jane Eyre, Chapter 8

A couple of years ago, Eva was three inches away from being my actual religion. That was the main catalyst of its downfall; I've become so burned out on Evangelion that I hardly think about it except when I come here. In comparison with other anime, Evangelion may be unique in many ways, superior in some, but overall I just don't find it to be very fun anymore. I have no creative ways of thinking about it left. The characters now seem caricaturish, their complexity as token as Mickey's gloves. It puts the taste of water in my mouth, water that's a little less than evocative of the cool waves I felt in the moments after I first watched it all the way through.

Eh most anime doesn't interest me. I liked FMA, FLCL, Trigun, and GiTS. But Big O and NGE are the only anime that have really ever caught my attention very strongly....My fandom is weird. I have a thing for Keel and SEELE.

I'd say that Full Metal Panic is about the same to me as Eva.
