One of my dogs is like Shinji. He is a rather large animal, perhaps waist high, but he is the most frightened, whining, cringing creature I have ever known, ever since he was a puppy. The other is probably closest to Asuka.

at times, my own mom acts kind of like Misato

no, she doesn't drink much, dress skimpy or run around hitting on "some younger guy", but she often seems to fret and be super self-conscience like Misato does (I may have just described most everyone's mother, but hey...)

I know an Asuka. Cute when she wants to be, but when she doesn't? Yikes. Also, she's smart, talented, reasonably attractive, and outwardly arrogant but inwardly insecure. Oh, and she's about the height of a 14 year old. =P

The modelling of any Eva character needs to be rather more nuanced than that -- like, what sort of a psychological damage case they are.

My Father=Gendo, except he didn't send me away and isn't a bastard with me(well not most of the time), and isn't trying to reunite with my not dead mother, but all the rest even the pose he have it, except for the beard cause a month ago he shaved off.

We call my ex-best friend Mark Shinji. He's limp, weak, cowardly, and selfish. And although I do pity him, he's annoying as hell to deal with.

Hence "ex" best friend.
