What's your favorite song in all of Evangelion?

mine would have to be in EoE (Komm, süsser Tod) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCLoNOYcVQU
and "Thanatos" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUYxiKs2Ozw
when Rei sacrifices herself for Shinji.

Komm Susser Todd has to be my favorite too.
It relaxes me, then it makes me want to strangle someone I love.

The Beast. And if this includes RoE, then I'd go for either Beautiful World or Les Betes.

Komm Susser Tod for me. I love slide guitar in general, and its put to really good use in the song. Also, the dark, depressing theme is something I can identify with.

Do we know the name of the music played
along to Eva01's switch to the dummy system?

The piece is used three times in the series,
episodes 16, 18 and 19.
You hear it, and know something awesome
and violent is about to happen.

Series

Marking time, waiting for death
Asuka strikes!
Rei, Rei II
Nerv
Misato
Eva00, The Beast
I, Shinji
Thanatos

EoE

End of Midsummer
Substitute invasion
Passage of emptiness
Honeymoon with anxiety

All of EoE is great, except for, in my opinion, Komm susser tod and Thanatos(if i can't be yours). With the latter, I think it's ruined with those vocals. I really don't like them at all!

I loved Komm when I first heard it, but I got burnt out.

I really liked a lot of the music, but I'd give the top spot to Cannon in D.

It was the ending credits in Death.

Angels of Doom
Beautiful World
Cruel Angel's Thesis
All real life classical pieces (Hallelujah)

<Kederaji> Didn't even bother to ask me, just marked them "No."

Komm süsser Tod

It was genious mix of (nigh-identical) chord progression nicked from Canon added together with hand clapping and melody from Hey Jude's nanananaa section juxtaposed with dark lyrics.

It is genious song in all fronts. And like someone said, slide guitar is awesome

Thanatos

It's best piece from TV-series

Expansion of Blockade (閉塞の拡大, Heisoku no Kakudai)

It has bazillion names depending on source but this is the piece that starts to play after real world material in End of Evangelion and carries through Rei's death etc.

It is best animusic I've ever heard. It is fantastic composition that shiftes dynamics all the time and mixes heartbreaking violin sections with booming brass horns with perfect grace. One of my favourite classic compositions and propably only such to rise from TV-show (well, Ailes Grises is another great one)

Cruel Angel Thesis is great too
