Turned a friend over to Instrumentality.
I recently convinced a friend to watch Evangelion after choking him with my fandom (blackmail) and he finished the series over the 3-day weekend. And he says he liked it and wants me to let him borrow my copy of EoE and a few Manga vol. Which I'll probably let him.
This could mean that we might get a new member here soon.
Is this not awesome or what?

-the only English language novel actually being developed in parallel to its Japanese version involving a pan-human Soviet in a galactic struggle to survive and to export the communist utopia/revolution to all the down trodden alien class and race- one of the premise being that Khrushchev remains and has abandoned Lysenko stupidity

Thank you, Sachi.
Well, I suppose introducing as many people to Eva as possible is a good thing, let's just hope he goes and not at tanging and Freud and stuff.

I've turned like 2 friends to "Instrumentality" in the past two years. And now, they don't know about this site, but they're so hooked up to Evangelion you might as well call them "uber-nerds".
And he better not be another birdy...
But that's still awesome, considering the slow pace of members we get...

I've turned a lot of people on to NGE, but no real friends.

I've seen so many changeful years, / to Earth I am a stranger grown: / I wander in the ways of men, / alike unknowing and unknown: / Unheard, unpitied, unrelieved, / I bear alone my load of care; / For silent, low, on beds of dust, / Lie all that would my sorrows share. - Robert Burns' Lament for James

Aha. I don't know why people assume that even if symbolism is shallow, the rest of the series must be. There's a lot of deep crap with superficial and erroneous symbolism.Themaninblack wrote:That it only pretended to be deep. AKA referrence a lot of obsecure shit, to make it look deep. He said he was wrong, but he's right when he says a lot of series do it.

Im currently trying to get two friends to watch eva but i doubt they'll join the forums or even think about it as deeply as we do, they're just your generic anime watchers really.

Eva fans are not any more intelligent than any other anime fans out there
He was warrior and mystic, ogre and saint, the fox and the innocent, chivalrous, ruthless, less than a god, more than a man. There is no measuring Muad'Dib's motives by ordinary standards. In the moment of his triumph, he saw the death prepared for him, yet he accepted the treachery. Can you say he did this out of a sense of justice? Whose justice, then? Remember, we speak now of the Muad'Dib who ordered battle drums made from his enemies' skins, the Muad'Dib who denied the conventions of his ducal past with a wave of the hand, saying merely: "I am the Kwisatz Haderach. That is reason enough."
