I recently convinced a friend to watch Evangelion after choking him with my fandom (blackmail) and he finished the series over the 3-day weekend. And he says he liked it and wants me to let him borrow my copy of EoE and a few Manga vol. Which I'll probably let him.
This could mean that we might get a new member here soon.
Is this not awesome or what? :woohoo:

Thank you, Sachi.

Well, I suppose introducing as many people to Eva as possible is a good thing, let's just hope he goes :gendo_kimura: and not  at tanging and Freud and stuff.

remember they have to be mature people. don't introduce people that will watch if after you say "there's sexual innuendo"

I've turned like 2 friends to "Instrumentality" in the past two years. And now, they don't know about this site, but they're so hooked up to Evangelion you might as well call them "uber-nerds".

And he better not be another birdy...

But that's still awesome, considering the slow pace of members we get...

He's no Birdy (assuming there's something wrong with Birdy), he's even more mature about things then me. Though, he has had his moments. I doubt he'll join. If he does, he'll log in once in a blue moon.

He hasn't even shown any interest in joining. But if he's anything like me, he'll join in a matter of weeks. Especially after watching EoE. I didn't see EoE till AFTER I joined EMF.

My brother was the exact opposite...he pretty much ripped on the series, saying it faked its symbolism, untill EoE.

I have convinced two of my acquaintances to watch it also. They liked it, and they are talking about it like mad. One of them should be coming soon to this forum.

That it only pretended to be deep. AKA referrence a lot of obsecure shit, to make it look deep. He said he was wrong, but he's right when he says a lot of series do it.

Aha. I don't know why people assume that even if symbolism is shallow, the rest of the series must be. There's a lot of deep crap with superficial and erroneous symbolism.

Eva fans are not any more intelligent than any other anime fans out there
He was warrior and mystic, ogre and saint, the fox and the innocent, chivalrous, ruthless, less than a god, more than a man. There is no measuring Muad'Dib's motives by ordinary standards. In the moment of his triumph, he saw the death prepared for him, yet he accepted the treachery. Can you say he did this out of a sense of justice? Whose justice, then? Remember, we speak now of the Muad'Dib who ordered battle drums made from his enemies' skins, the Muad'Dib who denied the conventions of his ducal past with a wave of the hand, saying merely: "I am the Kwisatz Haderach. That is reason enough."
