Reichu bids farewell to EvaGeeks
Since there are many people on Discord and elsewhere wondering where Reichu went, this was split out of the Hello/Goodbye thread as a more visible explanation for her absence.
Farewell, Reichu! It is always sad seeing a founding member of the community leave. Your unique contributions to this forum will be missed! We wish you the best of luck going forward, in life and related to Eva.
Edit: For anybody wondering where Reichu went, here are the links to her blog and twitter account:

Moved this to the "General and Chit-Chat" subforum since it seemed logical with the move of the "Hello/Goodbye" thread.-Ursus
EDIT Jan 11: Unstickied it on Reichu's request.
Now that things have simmered down somewhat, I suppose I can announce this more formally.
Users here may be aware that something happened in September of this year which the remaining staff are being steadfastly mum about. I'm not here to tell you about that (though EGF's user base should pressure the remaining staff into finally spilling the deets). I will tell you that this recent experience was so singularly unpleasant for me that it finally solidified those years of "will I or won't I?" (leave, that is) into a resounding "Yes!!!". Meaning, this cluster of events didn't lead to a decision that hadn't already been years in the making. In the long-term, my participation here has not been particularly good for me. This website started off with some semblance of vision and group cohesion behind it, but things have badly deteriorated since then. An uneasy equilibrium had set in due to the long lull between Q and Shin, but September forced the issue and ripped open plenty of old wounds. After fighting against this outcome as much as I could, I realized it was the sort of conflict where the only way to "win", in my position, was simply to walk away. So after giving the matter considerable thought, that is precisely what I have done. EvaGeeks, once a source of pride and joy, has become a font of bitter pain, and I am done with it.
To be perfectly clear: I am leaving, permanently. I am no longer staff here, and my contributions to the forum, wiki, etc., have ended. It's been a long run -- I've been a fixture at this forum since 2004; the site wasn't even called "EvaGeeks" until 2007! -- but it's over now. If I do continue my contributions to Evangelion fandom, it will be somewhere else. Should current plans ever materialize, I will make sure that people know where my work can be found.
Many will consider this account unsatisfactory. But, much as the rumor mills on Discord, /a/, and elsewhere might disagree, the details simply aren't relevant to most people. I'm not leaving because of dissatisfaction with the fandom at large. I still like the 'Geeks community on the whole. This is the result of several years of behind-the-scenes bullshit that have sponged up far too much of my emotional energy, to absolutely no personal gain. The only people who have any power over this are the current staff and those close enough to them to have any sway over their behavior. From my own perspective, the situation involves enough obstacles of the "immovable object" variety that it's easier to write EvaGeeks off as a complete loss and wash my hands of it. Even if the underlying problems were somehow fixed in my absence (and I get absolutely no sense that the staff is headed in that direction, good as many of their intentions may be), I suspect that my experience here has been forever sullied by all of the accumulated bad memories and that returning would be a fraught enterprise.
If you are interested in contacting me, I have disabled my PMs, but I can still be reached via e-mail (accessible through my profile). I also have a presence on Discord, but I won't publicize my ID for obvious reasons. There are regulars on Sachi's server who know where I can be found. Anyone who wants to reach out for whatever reason, feel free to do so.
Looking at the world right now, the future seems so bleak that I feel disingenuous wishing the best to all of you. But, still -- even if it's idealistic nonsense, I hope everybody here gets through this dumpster fire in human history as best they can.
LOTS OF EDITS: because farewell messages are hard.

Farewell, Reichu. I'm glad you stuck around as long as you did, and I hope you find some place in which you feel comfortable posting your work. I enjoy reading it, even if some of it kinda goes over my head a bit.

Re: Official "Hello/Goodbye" Thread!
Goodbye for now, Reichu. As awful as things are right now there will come a day when all this will become a distant memory. A painful memory, but something that's part of the past and is no longer an active threat to the future. Hopefully when that day comes will see you around here again.

Farewell, Reichu! I will be looking forward to your future endeavors.

Goodbye Reichu and Rei IV! It's a shame you're not staying for the final movie, but I hope everything works out, whatever you decide to do next.

Goodbye Reichu. I wish you good luck on your future ventures.
Re: Reichu bids farewell to EvaGeeks
Reichu, it fills me with sadness that you have decided to leave EvaGeeks, but I respect your decision. While I was on Discord, you always gave me advice when I needed it, and comforted me when I was having problems. I just want to say farewell, and I wish you luck.

So long Reichu. It was nice knowing you, even if it wasn’t for a long time.

For anyone who's interested, Reichu's new website is up and the juicy theorizing has already started! Anyone who's enjoyed her contributions will no doubt find it an interesting place.

Re: Reichu bids farewell to EvaGeeks
Now I do by no means agree with all or even most of her views but she's good at dissecting/extrapolating from otherwise overlooked details at the very least, and I am I am super, duper grateful that she took the time to take apart the script of the reveal scene.
It's explicitly noted that Fuyutsuki "stubbornly held onto" a photo of Yui & made sure it didn't have Gendo in it (perhaps implying that Fuyu's crush on Yui still exists in this contuinuity)
Apparently, the grid-like structure with the Rei heads is an "Ayanami-type manufacturing plant" (I also just noticed that there's two rows of them)
So these are not severed heads collected from previous clones, rather the newest models use only the heads (because you only really need the brain I guess)
So ReiQ is either there because they still happened to have her on ice or because they considered her more suited to do precision work like nap Shinji.
This is just like that bit in Elfen Lied where they had that one Diclonius reduced to her head & her spine to use her as a semi-living Diclonius detector.
Another idea that the words "manufacturing plant" implies for me is that like the gloves, weapons, various EVA components etc that we've seen Shinji walk past throughout Q, these are components for the hypothetical army of EVAs that Gendo seems to have been preparing (& which might possibly end up fighting Mari & Asuka, with combined EVAs or otherwise)
I admit I am kinda looking forward to part II even if I will probably disagree with it, there's a good chance that useful data will be turned up
