Eva Series weapon morphing into Lance of Longinus

So in EoE when the double blade suddenly morphs into a Lance of Longinus...is it just the shape and/or makeup of this weapon that allows it to penetrate Asuka's AT field, or was it somehow implied that Seele obtained the missing second lance?

And sorry for all the topics, but I suppose some discussion starters can't hurt...

The MP Evas carry replica Spears of Longinus that were initially camouflaged as ooken (the big double-bladed things). The eight remaining ooken-Spears transform off-screen sometime between the MP Evas eviscerating Eva-02 and the MP Evas impaling her to death.

So it's just the specific shape that matters when penetrating an AT field, not being the specific Lance itself. I read somewhere on here that the Lance was it's own being, alive in a way, and thought that might have played into it.

Being a replica (plus the shapeshifting) points to it being more than the simple physical shape that matters - otherwise, an oversized tuning fork would accomplish the same goal and then one has to wonder why the Evas use other weapons at all. The replicas are "alive" as well - in ooken-form, Asuka stopped the first lance with her AT-field, then it resumed moving forward on it's own again, which wouldn't be possible if it didn't have hat least some of the capabilities of the original lance.
