That answer was a cheap cop-out he came up with on the spot in order to justify yet another extremely bouncy 14 year old Gainax girl. And his answer makes no sense if you take into account that Simon is the same age as her, but developmentally much farther behind.

I know how attached you hairless apes are to your fictional characters, and i know that you will probably tear each other to shreds like a pack of rabid dogs, but i want to know, who do you think is the most attractive character? Le the games begin!

hmmm. i suppose you are right.
that does not mean i dont think they could make a interesting couple.
considering that the angels are more than likely not capable of reproducing in the traditional sense , or at all .
perhaps angelic romance (if any ) revolves around personality rather than sexual motives or reproduction.
that is assuming angels are capable of forming relationships.
hmmmm this opens up new research opportunitys.

She's probably the character that I like least if she was a real person, but Ritsuko has all the traits that I find attractive in a woman.

Shinji is super cute though! I'm not a pedo so I don't find him "hot" but that boyish insecurity is really cute. I mean a character like Rodimus Prime is the absolute best because he combines the hot old guy aesthetic of someone like Akagi Shigeru in Ten and the cute boyish insecurity of "Oh gosh, I hope they don't hate me" of Shinji. -edit- Plus you know being a robot is a plus.
