Evangelion Pic Thread 9: Pen-Pen's Playhouse [use spoilers]

We all felt uneasy about the characters in Evangelion and what they went through, especially Shinji and Asuka. Though we still witnessed their journey from start to end and that's a story worth being told and shared like never before.

Sure we ask ourselves if these blows of fate could be avoided and that we freak out how they choose and act in these moments when heaven and hell, life and death, love and hate, peace and war, good and evil, clarity and uncertainty and relief and tension are colliding. That's something we wont forget for the rest of our lives.

No matter how nerve-racking and hopeless it was with Shinji and Asuka, I'm glad that they could manage somehow, that they could safe something.

I like Asuka a lot. I've never known someone unique and unspeakably great before like a shining light in the darkness even after all she went through, even after what she did. I'm glad to know her.

And Shinji, even when he is questioning his selfworth, struggles against his fears and being stuck in a downward spiral that drags him deeper into despair, he can make it no matter how futile things get, he should just realise it and has just to do it. With having worth somithing to fight for and the will to do it, everything is possible.

Asuka's having difficulty training the MPEs to do her bidding like good little doggies. Rei decided to keep Shinji's iPod next time she found it, and all the Reis like to listen to it together to remind them of him. Meanwhile, Touji is obviously the one equipped to save the world. Shinji has recognised this and retired to the countryside, where he has been tending Kaji's watermelons and is currently collecting the harvest.

Asuka's figure makes more sense than her outfit, which appears to consist of:

• A short dress which transitions seamlessly from opaque to transparent somewhere around the middle of her ribcage, with a neckline that looks like it was torn in the fabric
  
• A half-length jean jacket with shoulderpads
  
• A corset-ish thing worn over the dress with the straps undone
  
• A pair of white (jean?) shorts worn under the dress with the button undone
  
• Shoes that look like pumps with massive heels which seem nonsensical for walking around in a melon patch

Also, her interface headset/hair clips are blue for some reason. I assume her hair is strawberry blonde instead of a rich red due to stress killing some of the color.

So much other wacky stuff going on there. Toji's anatomy looks normal but he has something that looks like a paintball marker that is actually a Luger with a loooooong barrel and a "snail drum" magazine and a bizarrely designed shoulder stock with a truly weird sight mount. Shinji's gardening outfit is fine but half his nose got cut off (I assume in the Battle of the Blackwater). Rei has no nose at all, and she has also resorted a life of crime from what I can tell since she's seems to have absconded with Asuka's choker.


Overall it looks cool as heck though.

I don't really like the way Asuka looks here.
I'd say Rei did ageing better but that would imply Asuka was ever better at anything than Rei

Also it would be reasonable to assume she'd be stacked as an adult cause she sure as hell wasn't lacking when she was 13.

Asuka has blonde hair... sometimes. Also she could have simple dyed it.
