Unless you see something I don't I see no Hentai or directions to Hentai in the post. All I see is someone talking about the possibility of a Asuka and Rei pairing.

In any case I don't really think it's possible but I have read (Non-Lemon) Fics where they made a convincing argument. Can't remember the name of it now though.

We probably need to adopt a strict formulation, which sort-of accords with Anglophone fanspeak, that shoujo-ai is girl/girl romance (the sort of level that gets on TV like Marimite, Kasimasi or perhaps Strawberry Panic - though that gets a bit lime-flavoured at times). When it gets into the bedroom, i.e. Lemon + shoujo-ai, we can call it yuri and say it falls under the "keep it clean, guys" intent of the no hentai rule.

Personally, I don't get even a bi-curious vibe from Asuka (she just wants Kaji to "J-j-jam it in!"), but I have read a couple of not-too-OOC fics that overcame suspension of disbelief in the A/S pairing.

One is a lemon, in which Asuka, rather than Shinji, delivers Rei's new ID card, and she gets molested with the calculated intent of "You must learn to let go, Pilot Soryu, else , you will never be able to pilot your EVA as efficiently as possible." The other, just shoujo-ai, has the two of them fall into a weird co-dependency, where Rei feeds Asuka's need to be adored, and the adoration feeds Rei's need for purpose.

Otherwise, I find Asuka/Hikari and /Maya more plausible.

I think those are the two i've read aswel. The non Lemon one was quite interesting, I was suprised to see someone write a fanfic based on this pairing that wasn't totally out of character and just sex scene after sex scene.

There are people who have watched that scene on many an occasion before engaging their inner dirty old man.

I think some of it is an artifact of the translation, and idiom. Asuka's totally strung-out state makes it quite obvious that what she is saying is "This chassis is about to crash." and not "Enough with console games, time for hot lesbian sexx0ring."

Now, although it doesn't really matter too much who the two hawt chicks are in PwP yuri, shoujo-ai has to have something about the characters involved that make romance, or even just unrequited longing, plausible. I really don't see that with the First and Second Children.

Rei and Asuka are probably the last female characters ont he show who would ever shojo ai each other. If you list any other female characters on the show there's a better chance of them getting it on then Asuka and Rei.
