Getting kind of lewd in here. A little cheesecake now and then is expected, but it needs to be balanced out by things that stir emotions rather than just loins.

I plan to have more variety, but I'd like to point out as I stated above that the show's opening has nude and topless shots of Rei and Asuka respectively.

I'm not so full of hubris as to argue with a moderator, and that's not what I'm doing now, rather just stressing that the show throws pinup shots of two of the girls at you before every single episode. So, before you learn anything about them, you see that. ^_^

Nor do any images I posted show loins/genitals. They were picked out with a lot of discretion. Some that I considered sharing I didn't, because rather than just being skimpy, you could see the outline of privates. Also, everyone has different tastes. The fact that it's mandatory to enclose them in spoiler tags means everyone has to voluntarily see any of them. So, members have the right to be more or less off put by the tastes of other members, but it doesn't mean they shouldn't have been shared if they aren't violating terms.

TL;DR: I'm getting all the ecchi out of my system. I'm probably one of the most textbook otaku Eva fans.

But I'm also working on a faithful rendition of Komm, süsser Tod in Mario Paint Composer to share when it's done. I have things to "give back."

I'm not a prude, I just think we need more variety to break it up. Too much of the same thing sets a tone that makes it feel like that's all this thread is for. But we're just about due for a reset anyway, so oh well.

Safebooru is your friend. Apart from that, try searching with -nude. You'll still get lots of panty shots, but they'll at least be (mostly) SFW.

My point is that I feel it's okay if the only fan art I can come up with is on the erotic side, because it's my primary taste and spoiler tags are mandatory.

People know what they're in for because members generally feel obligated to describe what they're posting. Nobody is making others peek but themselves.

Forcing everyone to have a certain amount of variety seems unfair to me in the same sense that competition is unfair to noncompetitive people.

Tastes vary with age and person. If it's hidden, there should be boundless liberty to post what you want as long as it's on-topic and within the confines of the rules.

The topic is fan art and the rules liken to:

A.) No porn. (I define that as images depicting a sexual activity, not images that pique your sexual interest, which I classify as merely erotic, so there's a distinction to me.)

B.) Nothing obscene. (Downright repulsive to most people's senses or politically incorrect.)

There was only one "cheap shit edit", which was the image of Asuka appearing to take pictures of a bent over Rei. I don't even edit anything. I just post what I find.

I get your point about tone, though, NemZ, but everyone is different. My style is to go on a kick, get sick of it, then move on to something different. I feel like I've had my fill of posting erotic art for the time being.

The nudes are very uninspiring anyway, and are simply mindless and cheap edits. Not by any of this forums’ users, but Sadamoto didn’t draw nude versions of these particular drawings. (He drew other nudes, and they look far better.) It’s lazy as fan art and potentially pushing other borders, especially when posted all at once like that.

This isn’t to say that I hate all the nudes posted here. That Adam and Eve spin on the Eva characters is one of the best pieces I’ve seen posted on this thread in a while. But there comes a point where Jean Honoré Fragonar’s “Female Nude and Pianist” can become very crowded by shameless Playboys, which I particularly don’t care for as much.

And this isn’t me saying that the Mods/Admins/or God Almighty needs to smite certain pics and those who post them, nor am I saying that only certain things can be posted at certain times. I’m just voicing an opinion is all. Take it or leave it. Honestly, it’s a quiet Saturday afternoon for me, and I don’t feel like actually fussing over things. ^_^

Um, sorry, but I've posted 16 images, only 2 of which have been confirmed to be edits by members in this thread.

Only the last 4 are nudes, and nobody said any of them in particular were edits.
