Fairly certain the glass on the left is absinthe and one the right... probably semen, in context.

The bottom is a line from a tango by Jorge Vidal, "tres esperanzas" which is (roughly) "Put the gun to your cheek... and goodbye. Now go to sleep!"

And note that Asuka isn't wearing socks, her legs are burned.

No idea who the girl on the left is meant to be, but I feel like I -should- know her. That bugs me.

Try taking absinthe (or even oxygen) true and pure: it's a burning poison. You need to louche/pollute/dilute it in order to turn it into a sweet tonic.


It was at least one year worth of planning, but in the end it's about what anyone can personally make from it. I don't control everything and after all there are no facts, just interpretations (functional truth is merely the interpretation of the most powerful in a given context).

The mixture produced by mixing the absinthe and melted sugar appears milky in color and consistency.

No, it's water. Same with pastis or other similar herb infused liqueurs that are made from anise where the oils from the herb react to water and get cloudy. Sugar has nothing to do with it. And absinthe is no longer illegal. It was always fine to *have*, but for a while people weren't allowed to sell it, and since like 2007 it's completely legal.
