Anyone want to be serious and mention voice actors who could do certain characters voices better, other than talking about abridged faggots and mentioning live action actors. What do people think if chris patton was the voice of Shinji, now that would be annoying

He's in everything nowadays. SAO, Blood Lad, Pokemon Origins, Attack on Titan, Blue Exorcist, etc.

All in which he plays main characters.

Ok how about Will Friedle as Shinji he was Terry McGinnis in Batman beyond and Lion-O in the Thundercats reboot.

Ooh, I concur most heartily with the original poster's idea of John Hurt voicing Fuyutsuki!

Only ones that occur to me at present are:-

Gendo: Michael Shannon
Ritsuko: Bebe Neuwirth
Toji: Matt Le Blanc

Hm. I'm sure many might consider the two US sitcom actors a bit 'lightweight' for the material, but they're just the ones who sprang to mind for some reason.

I should probably expand on why I want to hear JEJ voicing Gendo. And by that I mean him using a performance similar to his Darth Vader performance. I think it would fit Gendo's cold emotionless distance while also giving him a commanding edge making you think "yeah I totally buy that this dude has a master plan".

Colleen Clinkenbeard as Shinji.

Not sure about Asuka, Kari Wahlgren maybe?

Chris Patton as Kaworu, eww. That would be worse than Greg Ayres performance in the directors cut, I think the original English voice is the best.

Colleen Clinkenbeard has already appeared in Evangelion before (as Ritsuko) so technically she breaks the rules, although I agree she would be suitable for the role of Shinji.

Kyle Sturdivant is the worst by far. I'm guessing he had no voice work experience since he was pretty much in nothing else but he sounded incredibly wooden and awkward sounding, on par with this

Granted I'm not sure who they would play but they should voice everyone in everything.

Someone mentioned Jennifer Hale earlier and I think they had the right idea. Maybe go with an MGS cast.
