Shinji's mom, so seeing them kiss and embrace eachother like this is kinda freaky.

I'm with you on that feeling, but mileage varies regarding how much of Rei is "Yui-parts" and how much is "Lilith-parts." For me, regardless of her actual genetic makeup, the fact that she just looks a lot like Yui is enough to keep me away from that ship most of the time.
