Funniest moments in Evangelion

I missed this the first time around, but just noticed it recently- The scene when the power was out and the NERV people start complaining about the heat, they make a reference to the the commanders looking so cool and collected even though it is very hot. But as the scene switches to them they show that Fuyutsuki is actually standing in a bucket of water to stay cool, and that they are complaining as well. Its was so unexpected that I just found it hilarious.

It is very easy to miss things at 7:00 am. Although its fortunate becasue when I realized how tired I was I decided to rewatch the whole series, because I knew I was missing some things. (why 7:00 am is bad time- I go to party, come home from party dead tired, then continue to watch series, get too wrapped up, forgot to go to sleep, miss things) and yes the pen pen, and following scenes in magma diver were hillarious as well.

speaking of funny moments in eva, it's a pity that the outakes have never been shown. The only one i know of i heard off the commentary in EOE.
In the scene where gendo put his hand into Rei, one time he actually said words to the effect of he was looking for his keys.

I also find it hillarious that they changed the slap sound to a gunshot when Kaji got killed, they even said the "gunshot" sounded like somone getting slapped!

Actually, the point I was trying to make was, the scene in death and ribirth, when Kaji gets shot, it transitions to the scene with Asuka yelling at Shinji about Kaji being dead. It was a little artistic decision to cut to that scene with Asuka's slap instead of a gunshot.

The point is, the sound WAS a slap, and the people incharge of the english dub foolishly thought it was supposed to be a gun shot, so they changed it.

Im generally "ok" baring some things about ADV's eva dub, but Manga really dropped the ball with the death and rebirth and EOE dubs.

hands down.. it was episode 10... magmadiver... at the end where everyone was in the hot springs.. and while Shinji overheard Asuka and Misato "checking out the bubbly skin" he had a boner and pen pen was like confused... and then he was like... it was growing, how embarassing... rofl i totally didnt expect that

Some of the funniest Eva moments, I thought, weren't really in the series itself, but in the omake track on the Neon Genesis Evangelion: Addition CD.

you forgot that for the Asuka and Rei scene, Asuka was acting like a mob boss

to my (not-speaking-japanese) ears, the original is very deadpanned and implies that Shinji is intentionally being funny, while the dub overplays it and weakens the joke.

The las time i saw all the series and the movie, i was so used to the serious aspects of the series, that i laugh so hard for the ridicolous of this scene:

Yeah, those scenes are funny as hell!

Another funny dialogue I remember is when Kaji, Shinji and other people are standing at a vending machine. Kaji just failed an attempt to seduce Maya and then says to Shinji:

Kaji: Can I buy you a drink?
Shinji: Bbut I'm a boy...

I laughed like crazy when I saw that scene!
