No, there simply wasn't any relationship between the two, it was all a rumor, which actual staff from Eva who knew both deny.

Asuka is Hideaki Anno's favorite character, he gave her the "shaft" to both respect her character arch, and to give her significance in the plot. A "happy end" for her, wouldn't make any sense, and keep in mind one of the alternate endings for EoE was slightly more harsh to her.

I think it was supposed to be Rei's hand (describing it as white and all and she has the habit of leaving arms around lol)

So, we basically got the gist of how'd the characters react to Hideaki Anno. They would disembowel and kill him, in that order, for all the crap they went through. :toothy:

But what about Sadamoto, their artist? He gave them their forms in a sense. :toothy:

Shinji may resent them for what they put him through. And Anno certainly does owe Shinji a hug.


A HUG? For all that lil' fella has gone through? That's too small a compensation... really!
I guess if the characters would end up really meeting Anno, Sadamoto and the gang, It would be fun... like to see:

a) Asuka - "Anata baka"? I was the best pilot ALL THE TIME, you creepy pervert! You could make ME a goddess, not baka-Shinji...

b) KENSUKE - (dry endless tears) Waaaaah... I wanted to pilot... you made me enter Shinji-kun's EVA and didn't let me pilot, not even once...

c) TOUJI - and ME? I lost an arm and a leg inside!! And no-one remembered me!

d) Shinji - Mr. Anno, sir... why did I pilot EVA? I don't get it, nobody tells me, Asuka is such a pain in the arse, and Rei, and this, and that (start infinite complains)...

e) Rei - ... ... ...

Eh... well remembered!
From it all, I didn't like Toji's death on the manga. And after (I guess Shinji was dreaming) Hikari asking "Give me back Suzuhara"...

I didn't really like how Sadamoto just killed Toji off like that. I didn't think it really did anything other than have Shinji almost punch Gendo (although that WAS a pretty good scene.)

In short, I think there would be murder involved...lots of murder. The only two variations I see are Rei, who would probably be satisfied with watching and Pen-Pen, who would be wondering when he'd be fed next.

Anno: Hmm? What pay?
Pen-Pen: I thought we made a contractual agreement that I get my pay at the end of whatever I performed. Well, it's been 1 series, a manga series, a few games and 4 films. Where is it?
Anno: ... we were supposed to pay you?
Pen-Pen: 0_0 ... (starts third impact)

... okay, maybe Pen-Pen wouldn't be that harsh to him, but 15 years of work for being an under-appreciated character deserves more than the main characters...
