but they would need some time (6 years or so i would think)...so i think Asuka is the more likely choice...

What I was wondering is of all the girls Shinji was close to, no one mentioned Hikair. If people did come back could they be an item, especially if Asuka does dump him, and ei doesn't return?
Granted those are far fetched "What if's" but what do you all think?

Ah Hikari.
If she wasnt so smitten with Touji, I'd definately pin her as the girl Shinji ends up with.
But then, Hikari Ikari... lol that makes me laugh when I think about it.
Anyways, she would be perfect for him if he was her type.
Or perhaps she just doesnt know him well enough.

And if Shinji wound up with Asuka, it would only be at a time where they knew they could make it work.
That way they'd never have to go thru that whole "Abandonment/betrayal/etc" thing that they both hate so much.

Asuka+Shinji, Hikari+Touji, Kensuke+Rei and a Happy Sappy ending is the only way to go. And if you don't like it you can just go to hell :-p (I am allowing myself to be bullheaded about this so don't even bother counter it because it will do no good)

but in the sim you can set Shinji up with Rei, Asuka, or kawuro...

The Shinji sim thing has pictures of him with... well, everyone.

Anyways, they just give you frightening possibilities as to who he could be destined for.

During my first viewing of the show, I wanted Asuka and Shinji to get together so bad! It makes that last scene in EOE so heartbreaking!

One of my fav fanfics that get Shinji and Asuka together is called Shinji's Lullaby by SDB. You can find it at evafics. I loved reading that one. Very WAFFy :)

Eva is a mirror of anno's life up to a point right? So if he can pull out of his funk lose the dipression and find love ( theirs a MRS Anno now) then so can Shinji.

no..i think that you can only pair up with Asuka, Rei and kawuro in the GoS 2...
you might have seen the pictures for the evangelion 2 game for ps2...

Well I really dont care about realism when it comes to Shinji gettin paired.(I.E:Personalities) I like any female in NGE paired with Shinji, ergo Im a person with an open mind. I also believe in hope for change, who knows, Asuka might stop being a B***, Shinji might stop being a Emo, Rei may get Emtions, Misato may like Straight Shotacon, Ritsuko(See Misato), Maya(See Misato/Ritsuko), Hikari might develop a crush on Shinji, Her sisters (though shown in the anime) might like him, Kyoko may apear outa the Sea of LCL(See Misato/Ritsuko/Maya for more reference), Naoko(Read Kyoko), and dont get me started on the Great Yui-sama(she goes bonkers, Shinji go bonkers, or some wierd personality warp in Yui)

Though note: I have "isues" when it comes to maternal figures, reason why I like NGE so much.Hell my wife is 3 years my senior.

Seriously, I think Shinji and Asuka are the best couple. This is mostly because it seems the story does bring them together, and I think the two do have feelings for each other, but that's just me. *shrug*

From what the show has given us...In my opinion, Asuka should be with Shinji...It just makes sense as well. However, you can't disagree that Shinji almost 100% wanted Rei at one point...but then I guess he realized that it was only Asuka for him..and in his own selfish world in EoE he even said that shes the only one for him..

So ya, It seems as though Shinji was destined for Asuka...and I just like it that way as well.
