Asuka's description cracks me up, especially with the wording they used.

She isn't even referred to by a personal noun at the end, just "sex." I guess that does make her a sex symbol. :rimshot:

I am sure Misato would be jealous of that description. She's the one who really wants to be the show's sex symbol, after all. Sorry, Ms. Katsuragi, otaku aren't interested in women who aren't jailbait.

Hey guys, I think I just found Xard's new apprentice. Sadly, what you said does have some truth to it, Lolita Complex is rather common in the Japanese animation industry. Although the fact that they aren't real makes it less creepy than the whole Olsen Twins thing was.

Shinji got a lot of hints as "this is the smell of my mother... the smell of Ayanami", or " u cleaning the floor makes me think about my mother" or like Meaney said, chosing Shinji over Gendo , the material is subtle but the hints exists.

Damn it, I'm never going to stop with these stupid typos.

But yeah, I meant that from a personality perspective. I got all the hints that the show drops about the Yui/Rei connection, but I just didn't feel that Rei the person was very motherly to Shinji. I think that she cares about him, but isn't really sure why or how to go about doing that. But that's just my opinion, really.

There's actually another topic discussing the Thoughts On Stuff articles:

http://forum.evageeks.org/viewtopic.php?t=10787

Like I mentioned there, I thought it was interesting stuff. It really made me want to hear more opinions on Evangelion from people who aren't anime fans.

Ayanami Rei -- Bandages. Mysteries. Indifference. An object of interest. Mother.
Soryu Asuka Langley -- Girl. Perplexing. Formidable. Indecipherable. Sex.
Katsuragi Misato -- Adult. Superior. Meddlesome. Soldier. Family.
Ikari Gendo -- Harsh. Commander. Hatred. Anger. Father. Father. Father....

These are really fascinating. There's no neat little summary of Shinji though? Everyone is obviously described as they relate to Shinji, but I'm curious what connotations he'd have for himself.

The Comics Alliance post on Anno and Moore gave me this thought:

Could it honestly be said that they failed in their subversive endeavors? Even if their respective impacts were not as they intended, they nonetheless managed to change the game and make their messages known to many.
